I ran Saturday 4 min km pace for 4 k. Since the Dazzer run I have struggled with the run in as my stamina built from the marathon has gradually detiorated. 20:15 would be my next target. I have finished my training plan for June 13th and will now switch to Phoenix 10k and run more miles in the week with the intervals at a 10 sec lower pace. I will be back for a sub 20 5k effort but not for a few months.
If you ran 20:15 I would give it everything I have but you are too far ahead. I am thinking easy run and sitting back and waiting for Hove Prom.

What's your 10k target time? At the beginning of the year I wanted to have a crack at sub 40 but I'm starting to realise that's a pretty magnificent time and I would need to run a lot more than my current twice a week to have even the slimmest chance.

With four weeks to go I can see myself around the 41:30/42 minute mark if I run well. As much as anything looking forward to a few beers after as I don't start work until 12:30 on a Thursday.

Head north. You run east side of the cricket fields south of Sainsburys, carry on path east of Sainsburys on slope above the building and run left of Hove Park School playing field. Continue to only road cross 10m left to golf club car park and then run 30m right and head north through beautiful tunnel of trees to golf workers barn, carry on north through golf course, right at top and path takes you over A27 on footbridge. Then north to the Dyke.

Brilliant cheers!

When/where's the next big nsc park run happening?

Nothing confirmed as far as I know, but there is a strong NSC contingent running the Brighton Phoenix 10k weds 15th July with beverages afterwards.

Also received a regular email from FETCH not to be confused with FELCH and the link below gives a peer ranking of their runners based on 6 different distances spanning from 1 mile to a full marathon.

Based on that link my most impressive run is my half marathon time where I make the top 23% of their runners all my other times are between 24-30%.

The NSC Challenge is considering an indefinite cancellation of all future 5k races. If Pembury, Dazzer666 and big nuts all turn up on the same day the rest of us might as well give up and manage the fuel stations.

To be more serious it would be good to see the three of you run together. So it needs to be you boys who arrange a date.
Big Nuts or Guinesss Boy has Set the Phoenix 10k on the seafront Wednesday July 15th followed by refreshments in The Better Half. Should be 5 of us at least.

I got top 8% twice for 5k (35 years old) and top 10% mile (14 years old). It's a downhill sport or life.....

For the Phoenix 10k I will aim at sub 44 and see what happens. I have 3 days at the first Ashes Test just before it. Great prep in hydrating and resting on my bum. I am entering a training stage where I concentrate on the week rather than resting up for races. That fetch chart confirms what I know and that is that I am failing in my three marathon attempts by a good 10 minutes. Sub 3:40:00 in that next year is my ultimate aim.

That link is really useful / motivating. I am in top 70% for 10k but have miles to go on 5k and 10 miles before I'm even near that. Just looking at that list has made me set mental goals for the other distances. Would be really nice to run a 1.25 ten miles and do the half and full next year in sub 1.55 and around 4.20. That would get me in just better than top 70% in each distance and I feel I could work on each one at a time in the way I have concentrated on 10k thus far.

Talking of which a PB on 15 July is the modest aim followed by meeting you gents for refreshments!

I think I'm gonna aim for this too. My training is a bit all over the place at the moment, and I can't decide what I want to achieve. A decent 10km time on the flat sounds good, before I get into training schedule for IOW Marathon.

Count me in.

Not me. Will be into my second day at the Trent Bridge Ashes Test. Busy around all Tests this summer. The others may be up for it.

Is that the first day of the season, if so I was thinking that should be an appropriate date. Trust you'll be wearing the black and green stripes at Trent bridge knocky, should be popular as we romp home vs forest!

It may need to be worn at 4:45. Trent Bridge is not like Headingly or Old Trafford, so it will be safe. I may even be in a Brian Clough state by then.

Me (Big Nuts) Mr Blobby Simgull Guinness Boy knocky1 Greg Bobkin

Anyone else? I think entries were either £12 or £13.

Where did you get the info. Bob!? They seem to be keeping it under wraps at Hove Park. Maybe they fear an Exodus for the first run with 900 turning up leaving Hove and Preston Parks very empty.
