Time for a run I think. The Shoreham Basin loop. Hove Lagoon along the water to the Lock Gates at Lady Bee Marina. Down to the end of Shoreham Harbour Arm and then back along past the power station to Hove Lagoon.

How was it? I set off from Shoreham-by-Sea to Worthing at 6:30am yesterday to get the car that had been left there after a night out. The vast majority along the seafront, and it was one of the hardest runs I think I've done. A combination of rain and a damn strong southerly wind, and I only managed seven miles instead of the 10 that I had originally planned as a minimum. Still, I finished May with 110 miles, which I was pretty happy with. Rest day today, and then to continue the fartlek streak in the morning. Mrs Bobkin is talking about getting a cross trainer, so I'm looking forward to adding that into the training mix.

Strava is pretty good - can also synch automatically with things like garmin connect so you don't need to upload twice.

I've set up an NSC Group - https://www.strava.com/clubs/145815 - first time I have done this so hope it works

2 hours on the Downs yesterday morning - weather was horrendous. Stinging horizontal rain throughout and struggled to stay upright.

I've just joined and am currently syncing runs from my Garmin. Luckily the old ones where I struggled to get three miles out aren't on there :)

This explains neatly how to sync. http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2014/08/automatic-mapmyfitness-endomondo.html

It was rather enjoyable. My total for May was a paltry 30 miles but 90% of that done at 7" mile pace or higher.
3x1 mile intervals early tomorrow before a wisdom tooth gets pulled out.
Looking forward to seeing what this 5k training will produce on the June 13th Parkrun. After that I better take to the hills.

13th is a non starter for most but I will run it alone, if need be!

We could try another in the weeks after, especially if the Seafront one gets going.

Did my 10-miler last night which got me to my 200km goal for the month.

I found it really, really hard. I wonder if it was psychological though as I set out slowly and with no aims other than completing the miles. I think my personality is such that I struggled with nothing to aim for.

Feeling very tired today but saw something called #juneathon last night - run every day for the whole month. I feel tempted!

I did that in January – or Runuary as I called it. Was quite a challenge, but I set myself a target of a minimum of 10 mins/1 mile each day, and often I was taking to the streets in my normal gear just to get the runs done.

Not sure it helped my running much – I've learned it is more about quality than quantity – but it was a good start to the year anyway. Good luck if you DO do it.

#juneathon is for wimps. Ron Hill ran every day for 50 years from 1964 to 2014. Albeit on crutches after a bunion op. for a couple of those weeks. Not sure if he kept it going after 50 years.

Pretty pointless in my view - just to be able to say you've 'run every day'. Won't improve your running and more likely to get injured. Rest days are as important as running days if you are doing quality stuff.

Pointless for me but when you are the first sub 2:10 marathon runner (Edinburgh Commonwealth Games 1970)running 160,000 miles in 50 years is probably addictive, obsessive and, maybe, even enjoyable.

Out of interest, what running shoes are people wearing these days? I recently went from Asics Nimbus 16 to Nimbus 17. Didn't expect any difference apart from the colour scheme, but they are lighter and far more comfortable.
