1. 30 minutes in to week 1 pre game coverage and I'd already had enough of J Bell
2. The new kick off rules are going to take some getting used to
3. The Jags managed to encapsulate last season in 1 game by staring well and then falling apart

One very happy Bucs fan here. Offence looks potent, doesn't appear the loss of Canales as OC has caused any disruption to Mayfield and Evans looks as good as ever.

Will get a better idea of where the team is currently at after playing Detroit next week but will be good to see. Saints and Falcons have strengthened but I think we'll still have enough to top the division, Panthers aiming to stink the place out again

As others mentioned, love Red Zone and Scott Hansen. I tend to only watch live games post-season, or if the Bucs are not playing in the 6pm kick-offs.

You should be happy, really impressed with Baker yesterday, I've always liked him and am glad his career is back on track. I just wish Progressive Insurance would rehire him for their commercials!

30 minutes into week 1 of Sky showing live games, and Iā€™d already had to lunge for the remote countless times, as the ad breaks kicked in at five times the volume of the match coverage.

Browns being Browns. again.

I know the Cowboys have a good defense, but that offensive showing last night was abysmal. Stefanski is still calling the plays which I find bizarre, as hes yet to show in his time at Cleveland that his offensive game plans are making any strides forward with the players he has at his disposal. It always seems so...safe, and telegraphed.

Our strength has always been the running game, and Ford did OK with a 3.6 avg on 12 rushes, but as soon as the game started getting away from us last night you just knew there was nothing in the tank to pull it back, once we had to ditch the ground game. You have to hope that Chubb will be back to somewhere near his best when he returns, because they will need him to be. Unfortunately, after 2 major knee injuries I cant see it happening, which breaks my heart as hes my favourite player, and hes also the heartbeat of that franchise along with Garrett.

Watson's stats last night of 24/45, 169yds, 1TD, 2 INTs are what I expect from someone who just doesn't seem to have the capability to play elite level football anymore. Look at what a 98yr old Joe Flacco did with more or less the same offense last season - Watson hasn't shown that at all in his playing time the last couple of years. Ignoring the off field issues, we gave a huge guaranteed contract to someone well beyond their best, and who just doesn't have that spark as a top QB. Such a massive waste of money, and unforgivable from the FO imo. He may well come up with a couple of big games for us this season, but I would rather have Jameis Winston under center tbh. Yep, really.

It just seems that we will be in a state of limbo until we get #4 off the roster, and out of town. Hes the worst thing to happen to this franchise since Modell packed us off to Baltimore. And thats saying something with the number of shocking teams / players / coaches weve had since 1999.

And its only week one.....
I know, I know, I know. I kinda had a bad feeling about this anyway as pre-season had been, er, 'less than successful', but I wasn't expecting such a tonking. Could argue about the injuries in the OL, but jeez, that was dire.

Your post is 100% spot on, and the situation is made worse by the fact that Watson is not only under-performing, he is also of course a vile person. To quote Monty Python: "He's not the messiah, he's just a very naughty boy!".

*Sigh* What is it with Cleveland and QBs?

Ive given sky sports a bash for a month via Now TV, cos i quite fancied a bit of the Redzone coverage - bloody hell, its such a massive dump of info, it really takes a lot of brainpower to kind of watch eight matches at the same time :p I like the immediacy of seeing the Bears scores and big events straight away, ive previously been following the scores via the NFL app which is sometimes instantaneous and occasionally ridiculously delayed - it was pretty annoying. The Redzone is great, i'm a convert! (this is old news to probably everyone else in here, but its new to me dammit)
Redzone is just fantastic. I've seen them try it over here for the Champions League and it's horrible, does not work anything close to how RZ does. I usually stick it on my iPad/laptop whilst I have the Vikings on the main screen.

Speaking of the Vikings, how about that Sam Darnold? The Darnold looked comfortable in our offence and completely overshadowed how poor Daniel Jones was at QB for the Giants.

Anyway, it's time to Make America Minnesota Great Again! No one is better than our GEQBOTUS. Unbelievable!

And now he has a new lawsuit hanging over him, for sexual assault in 2020.

Just do the right thing Haslam, and ditch the guy. Roll with Jameis the rest of the year, draft a rookie in the spring, and wash our hands of DW for ever.

I didn't know about that. Unbelievable (or perhaps sadly not) :(

Whilst Cleveland will always be my team the whole Watson things has slightly soured my feelings. (I know you feel much the same way). In the old days people used to laugh at us, the Clowns, because we were crap. Fair enough, that's part of sport. Those are now officially the 'Good Old Days'. Now they look at us with contempt because we tried to make a deal with the devil. In a lot of ways I'm glad Watson is struggling, if we had been successful with him under center I'd always feel it would be tainted. I'm glad he was booed on Sunday.

So yeah, ditch him, take the salary hit, and lets go back to being crap but at least with a bit of dignity.

I really hope you get rid of Watson and the Browns can go back to being a team that neutrals would always look out for. The fanbase deserve better than being saddled with an overpaid PoS as their QB.

Did no one else hit the Waivers this week? Picked up Likely, Mason and Dobbins off of it, and I think I was straight last in the priority order? Kind of feels like I've cheated a bit this week!

Wow. Edge of the seat stuff at the end there. Was sure the Lions were going to make another 4th down save.

Wasnā€™t a pretty win, Goff making a few mistakes which cost Detroit. but what a player they have in Hutchinson, 4.5 sacks, nailed on for DPOTY imo.

2-0, with a good chance to make that 3 against the Broncos next week!

Giants actually did ok, lost their kicker on the kick-off, and restricted the Commanders to field goalsā€¦..

Still a poor, poor team, and Burns and Thibodeaux arenā€™t doing enough, but the O line played as well as Iā€™ve seen for over 12 months.
Jones finally did okay, and Malik Nabers played really well, until dropping his easiest target of the nightā€¦..

Unexpected win for Cleveland, slightly soured by the fact that the **** scored and had a reasonable game.

Well the Commanders finally overcame the Giants and needed Graham Gano to get injured to do it. A very frustrating game that highlighted both the positive and negative aspects of this team. The defense in the first half shocking, missed tackles galore, soft in the middle and non existant outside. That said second half there was an improvement of sorts which gave us a chance.

As for the offense, the good; scored on all seven drives, shame it was just field goals. Run game was good, Robinson and Ekeler a very nice duo. Daniels for the most part played ok, the passing game needs work still but as rookie QBs go he is looking very promising. Red Zone offense just garbage though, poor discipline, poor decision making and an all round lack of cohesion, this needs sorting and fast.

I think we finish this season way under .500, but with better play than last season and withoit having to search for a QB can really attack the other holes on the team.

As for the Giants, late drop aside, Malik Nabers is a stud, looks like a very good receiver indeed.

BUT....22/34, 186yds, and 0 TDs.

All it suggests to me is that he dinked and dunked his way down the field....a backup could do that job just as well. Hardly $230m worth so far in the first 2 weeks.

Cracking win for the Bucs at Detroit - even if the game management towards the end was ropey to say the least....

Defence really stepped up again and it bodes well, especially given that the Saints are looking very decent.
