Big beer need to remember where these little breweries came from when coming in and taking them over.

No doubt all siphoned off to Fullers pubs or something

Had the pleasure visiting the B-R-Z-N pop up in Beaconsfield Road on Saturday, a delightful small bar with a fantastic yard/garden at the back. The beer (which is brewed in a shipping container on New England Road) was superb. A fantastic Kolsch-style table beer Turntables which was the tastiest 3.4% beer I have had in a long while. Also had a nice nutty best bitter and a fuller flavoured IPA. The request has gone in for a permanent license and the verdict will be known the 15th of September, fingers crossed it gets to stay.

Missed this at the time, it's up and running again and continues to do some excellent beers

Shame. Maybe it’s time for the Evening Star to move on from Dark Star? There’s plenty of decent breweries out there knocking out APAs.

That would be my thoughts. I've not tried any Dark Star beers in a long time now, but there are plenty of local breweries making excellent beer so would not be an issue.

Worthing continues to be a haven for craft beer aficionados. Hand Brew have taken over the 'Castle Alehouse' and are due to open this weekend. Being interesting to see how they do as the location isn't great but adds to their taproom in West Worthing + their original pub in Kemptown

I’ve seen some of the breweries involved in this and it will be very good. About 10-12 venues involved I think

Anyone going to the CAMRA Festival at Lewes Town Hall tonight? What are you looking forward to drinking most?

Are keg beers allowed ? Or is it just lukewarm twiggy ales ? *runs*

Last time it had a good mixture, certainly a few crafty IPAs and APAs that many on here would enjoy. But they just have to be good ones, so none of that BR*WD*g shite

CAMRA aren't exactly known for making sure the ale is poured at the correct temp. Witnessed many a time when they've chucked a wet towel over the barrel in a hot tent.

Not for me. Plus I end up arguing with someone who thinks they know everything because they bought a Woolworth home brew kit in 1975

Still in Brighton
Tried a search unsuccessfully and this is a long thread - for Fathers Day need to source some decent tasting alcohol free beers to sample. The old boy has read the article that says a beer a day (even alcohol free) is good for diverse gut flora and this is good for the heart etc and he is non alcoholic at moment as waiting for heart op. Any suggestions? (need to sourced today in central Brighton). I rarely drink beer, more a wodka man.

I see the Brighton Beer Dispensary is calling it a day .
I was in on Saturday night and it was deserted . Troubling times .

"We’re very sorry to have to announce the closure of the Brighton Beer Dispensary.
With the rise of electricity bills, brexit nonsense and other issues, we just can’t see ourselves surviving.
We will be closing from tomorrow onwards."

Shame as the beer line ups are usually very good but agree not been busy at all the times I’ve been in since covid. Staff not as good either
