Not unlike Hop head but with a better taste. "Summit," that was being served up in the market porters also similar. Very nice. 11 different Ales on offer in there yesterday. Plus their house ones.

My aim was to start a thread celebrating US style craft beers. I'm thinking flavoursome pasteurised beers dispensed from a pressurised keg. These are different to real ale. And in turn different to lager. There's nothing pretentious about it in the slightest. The term craft beer differentiates it from real ale and lager-this is all.

Just had my Xmas Brewdog delivery. I decided to have a sneaky bottle tonight: Nuns with Guns
A hoppy, dry hopped low ABV reasonably malty pilsner. At 4.2% this amber hued little gem infuses wholesome BrewDog hoppiness with classic lager sharpness.

Very nice.

Here is my rip off label and rip off beer. They don't sell it in the US, so I was forced to brew it myself. Took a few attempts but its darn close and damn good if I say so myself.

I went in there with the girlfriend last week, and I have to say it wasn't bad - they had a lovely selection of beers (particularly Belgian and American ales) and I thoroughly enjoyed trying Brooklyn Lager on tap for the first time (even though it did cost a whopping £5.40 for the privilege). It is almost definitely one of the most expensive places to drink in Brighton - even a more mainstream Grolsch costs £4.30.

That said, the food in there was fantastic and not overly expensive either (between £9 and £12 for most mains), so it's pretty clear the pub is pitched at people going for something to eat and a couple of drinks for around the £20 mark as opposed to people going on a bit of a session.

I'd happily go there again soon, but again probably on the basis of going for dinner and just a couple of beers.

I think there are very few beers that warrant that price. In fact, I'm not sure the brewers can justify the price either. Even given the costs importing the beer, it's still a rip off.

Big brewers its a rip off for sure. But, for small brewers it's different. For example Southern Tier ales/beers are expensive because they are shipped from NY and its a very small brewery.
