Did he do enough to keep the shirt?

He got his chance owing to a couple of injuries to regular starters and was the defensive midfielder in a midfield of 4 and got high praise form the guys doing the BBC Radio Cambridgeshire commentary. They observed that he has played more minutes for England u20s this season than he has for Cambridge, but based on this performance nobody would be worried about him keeping his place - which he will for a few weeks at least, owing to injuries. Very strong first half - most things seemed to go via him. In the 2nd half, Sheffield Massive made some changes and had the 45mph wind behind them and pressed on and got their deserved equaliser on balance of play.

Great to see him get the full 90 minutes - especially as Bonner threw on a couple of subs on 80 mins and neither were for Weir. A pretty accomplished and mature performance I'd say, and fully expect him to start again on Saturday.

Time to bin him off? Or have a bit of fun - make him earn his last half season's worth of mega-dosh by playing in League 2 somewhere horrible - Carlisle, Hartlepool or Barrow (if anyone will take him!) would do .....................

A player struggling to make a come back after a serious injury. Looked a long way from his best pre-season. I hope he can get back to the level he is capable of playing at.

From the original link:
"Outlet El Desmarque today features a piece claiming there’s a clear lack of adaptation from him, as his attitude has even been bothering manager Alvaro Cervera."
It may all be made up bollocks, of course, but on the whole I take a less sympathetic view of him 'struggling to make a come back' than you do.

Agreed. I'd also be annoyed if one of our defenders let someone drift off them like that!

It’s very clever by Zeqiri though. The defender turns his head to see Zeqiri running one way, the instant the defenders head turns away to look at the incoming cross, Andi goes in the opposite direction into acres of space, that move is done in under 2 seconds and is a brilliant gamble by our man. But it’s very rare for our front players to have so few defenders to beat in the Premier League I’ll admit.

Caicedo played 82 minutes today and got a yellow card when they lost 4-2 to Anderlecht. Beerschot remains very, very last in the league with only 2 points from 12 games.

No Karbo for Olympiakos, getting less and less play time which is a bit worrying unless he is injured.

For all of those wondering, Billy Arce is still injured.

Cheers for the info (although tbh I'm not bothered about Billy Arce!)

I only open this thread for Billy Arce news.

No one mentioned that Mitouma won a penalty for RUSG and they won away and are still top? Vanzeir got his 8th goal (in 12), so we might fancy him as well!

Thanks for the update on Mitoma - as for 'no one mentioned it', we don't all follow every loanee in every match and look to this thread for information!

Molumby had a good match for West Brom. MOTM for some fans and he seems to have finally won them over. Van Hecke was an early sub for Blackburn - mixed reviews, but more positive comments than he's previously had,
Up in Scotland Cochrane keeps serenely on as a pretty much automatic choice for Hearts. Not so good for the other two lads up there though - neither even on the bench today. I'm starting to wonder if the club will be thinking about bringing Jenks back in January - Aberdeen don;t seem to want him, he's getting very little game time and the fans have been giving him pelters from day one.

Almost a Brighton derby up in Jockland tonight - but Cochrane was dropped (rested?) by Hearts and Dendoncker was substituted at half time through injury for St; Johnstone.

Both our players, out on loan - but I do wonder: will they ever have met each other before? Not sure Dendoncker's been anywhere near Lancing yet!

Dendoncker played 15+ games with the U23s last season, would imagine he participated in a couple of training sessions as well...

Yes I suppose they might have met while Cochrane was recoverng from the injury that cut short his loan at USG - hadn't thought of that.

They were both on the bench in the League Cup last season, for the Portsmouth and Preston games. They also both started the first few PL2 games before Cochrane went on loan to USG.
