We will have to agree to disagree. He is not going to improve in the belgiun league is he?As i say it keeps people in jobs

Perhaps we should have loaned him to Leeds

Why would he not improve in Belgium ? He will / has got more minutes than he would have at Brighton. Perhaps they're happy managing Richards and his football this way with occasional minutes, U23, Cups etc but really Caciedo, new to Europe needs minutes to get up to speed etc. Makes sense. Not every signing is made for the first team straight away because if they were 100% ready, they'd cost more than we pay

You are one of the better posters on NSC and i apologise for my comment earlier

I am ignoring this thread in future
No need for that! - this thread is about tracking the progress of, and sharing news about, our loanees out in the wide, wide world - and as such it's a very interesting thread. It's not meant to be, and normally isn't, about arguments about whether X or Y should be loaned or not. Follow it - and enjoy!

That's because like you and I, and the rest of the posters on this board, (maybe a select few) are not privy to behind the scenes running of the club.

We have to trust and have faith their plan is a good plan, and every decision is made with the best interest of the club at heart.

I have full trust and faith we are in the best possible hands and we will get to where the project is planned for, where ever that may be.

God almighty - the VAR in this match is appallingv -5 minutes or more for a decision. Absolute bollox - FFS make it 10 seconds or the on-field decision stands, or scrap it. Maybe 10 seconds before calling the ref over, but then still strict time constraints- ref has a 10 second look at the screen, then it goes blank.

16 (sixteen) minutes of added time!

With absolute respect, the reason you find some of the loan decisions baffling is because you are just a fan. Dan Ashworth has a good article on the Athletic explaining the three types of loan move we operate, as someone has probably already posted. We don't have access to what goes on in the background and nor should we.It may be confidential to club, player, or loanee club. We just have to watch and wonder like I did with Karbownik having an option to buy on his loan. The club's job is to do what's best for all. Our job is to cheerily accept occasional bafflement.:D

That Alex Cochrane looks like some player! Have watched him quite a few times and looks like one for the future.

My initial reaction to the Caicedo loan was one of disappointment. However, after hearing about the dilemmas involved in finding a suitable loan move I can see that there is thought and logic behind it, but not just obvious to the fan. What’s an added consideration for some of these players is the International breaks. Moises will have played two World Cup qualifiers in a week and will then be back in Belgium for some league action. Sarmiento will have trained with the Ecuador squad and got a small amount of game time. All great experience for them.
Both these lads are only 19 and are involved in World Cup qualifiers. If we nurture them well then they could both be big stars.

They weren't that keen before (rubbish at Preston, can't get in the Brighton team, etc.) but he had half an hour tonight, and Baggies fans seem to have finally started realising they've got a decent player there. Wonder if WBA will make a big enough bid to buy him after this season?

Clarke also returned to the team tonight - Baggies fans generally seem pleased about that too. The guy's done really well out on loan in the Championship - sadly I don't think he's ever going to turn out in blue and white stripes now though; if he was going to, I think we'd have kept him here as a left footed defence option and sent Roberts out on loan to somewhere higher than last season.

I read they have an option to buy for £2.2m. His loan fee is £800,000 for Molumby.

Mitoma played less than 20 minutes in the last 3 games in Belgium. Can’t be helping him adapt to European football with such little game time.

Won't help his chances of getting a UK work permit either, he needs 75% minimum of playing time ideally.

Unlucky for him - sort of - that they've done so well without him that it is difficult to "force" him into the starting eleven. He is a great player though and I think he'll start starting sooner rather than later.
