5-0 and you cant go home!!!

Luckily enough for me I was at a wedding that day. All I had to endure were the constant updates while we were being destroyed at the hands of the mighty Palace. We'll have our chance, you may enjoy this until then, I grant you that.

You love us really though. It's amazing that even though you have been playing Charlton, Millwall, QPR, West Ham and others over the last 15 years when we, frankly, have been utter shite, the match two years ago is the one you will never forget.

It has to be one of the shittiest days in living memory, locked IN the pub by the Met, loads of faces who I did not recognise, loads of 'Burberry Boys' snorting coke in the bogs prior to the match, a foul atmosphere all the way to Selhurst as we were frogmarched from the station..........incredible noise inside.......and then the match started and we hung our heads low and lower.

Only consolation was that I left at half time and went to Soho to stock up on some porn, (European Cumbath 27, given 4 and a half stars in 'what jizzvid' magazine) whilst my mates took three hours to get to the car park after the match after the OB forced them onto a train back to Brighton.

Dear oh dear, these Palace fans usually claim that Brighton doesn't mean anything to them. Yet they come on our site and relentlessly remind us of a victory they had over us two years ago. Clearly not the actions of people who don't care, after all do we constantly remind Chester about the time we beat them 7-1, or Mansfield about the time we beat them 6-0? No, we don't.

Thanks Palace fans, we care about you too.

not quite the same meaning to those other games, and as far as i remember the brighton fans were hyping the game on this site a lot more than the palace fans

Of course we were, we were looking forward to it. I must say I took a kind of masochistic pleasure from the match - it was an absolute car-wreck, but all I can really remember was the Albion fans singing loud and proud right to the end. That and how quickly a crowd can disperse once a horse starts to take a piss!!!

Heading for shore
The game in 2002 was our first meeting for many years so it's hardly surprising that they go on about it. If the score had been the other way round we'd have been equally merciless in the ribbing. Those of us that remembered and missed our old get-togethers in the 70's and 80's couldn't wait to get that buzz back and the younger fans that didn't were waiting eagerly to taste for themselves what all the fuss and old stories were about. On the day we were shit and they were good, the police made sure there wasn't too much trouble and we ended up getting relegated and denied a chance to get some pride back.

I was in Reading that weekend getting text updates from Tom Hark. My heart sunk lower with each text.

But what goes around comes around and we'll be here in the CCC waiting for Palace to drop.

Til next season then guys and we 'll be more than ready for you.
