I'm pleased that the club is keen to look after its players post-retirement. I am also concerned that the decision-makers at the club are too sentimental.

Charlie will have a difficult decision to make if his beloved QPR also offer him a non-playing post.

Good on you, Charlie, but I don't know how significant the statement "Job for life" is coming from a chairman in his 70s of a club ripe for takeover should Falmer go through about a crocked player nearing his mid-30s.

From my armchair I'd expect Charlie would be brilliant working with youth and / or community projects.

Knight can't claim the £280k for Falmer, with no money for players on the one hand, then offer Charlie a 'job for life' on the other... his priorities are truly fcuked

What a f***ing joke. Get rid of loyal staff from the club shop, then offer a job to someone who has no experience working in any other capacity except as a player. Where's the economical sense in that? Another 20 years of Oatway's tiresome KFC jokes beckons unfortunately. Sentimentality does not make good business sense.

What do you mean, they are hilarious. All the players who have played with him have all said how funny he is and if I ever wanted an opinion on wit a profession footballer would be the first I would seek out.

good to see anyclub acting with integrity....glad it's mine

Integrity costs money, this is coming after people have been tod none of the CKR money will be spent on players, I can understand why people are pissed.

Loyalty wins you nothing, infact it stops you buying new players.

Loyal fans pay out ticket money which give the club more money to spend on players.

He would scare the shit out of the Youth Team.

That's quite possibly the most factually incorrect thing I've read on here (although you may have posted it in jest...)

It's SO MUCH the opposite, the reality goes a long way to understanding why the club want to keep him on in some role.

There is NOTHING sentimental about this statement by Knight, it's born out of the opinion of every manager/coach, who Charlie has played under..

.. and have importantly seen the benefits of his work when he ISN'T playing.
