For some reason, totally unknown to me, the Albion have produced far more than their fair share of league managers in recent years...only natural to assume that a few who have played for us in the last couple of seasons or so can go on to achieve the same feat. Why not Charlie?

Not connected.

Anyway - look no-one is pretending that he's the best player in the world, just passing on what EVERY SINGLE PLAYER / COACH who has come to speak at the meetings has said.

No cooincidence either that none of the managers has ever tried to ship him out. He has been viewed as instrumental in bringing the younger players through as well.

Might be bollocks, but for the life of me can't see why they would all go out of their way to mention him and rarely mention other players in the same way.

The meetings are FAR from a love in either as anyone who has been can testify.
100% spot on.

TBH it was always on the cards, especially as he has long been an 'ambassador' of the Albion's community programme, especially as he was even a beneficiary of it.

Oatway has far more to offer than his playing skills, and the club, bereft of being able to buy in any other eduation-teaching skills has been prudent enough to realise the nature of the assets it has within the club. Loyalty is a always a two-way street, and I am sure Charlie will fulfil whatever role he is given with the professionalism people have come to expect from him.

Fair play to all concerned.

...and that appears to be borne out by the comments by Clapham, strength comes from within!

Great! So they'll just create a job for him like they did with Rogers.

Haven't got a pot to piss in but hey at least we're doing the noble thing!!
Won't be long before our matchday subs will have to sit on the grassy bank near the away fans as there will be no room on the subs bench.

Quite.

With Mayo, Hart and Butters all coming towards the end of their careers we're going to have to start finding jobs for them pretty soon.

Butters can be head of catering, Mayo can be in charge of carrying the withdean wager board round at half time and Hart well he can sweep up and make the tea.

Problem solved!

Come to Brighton to end your career guaranteed job for life because we've got a chairman who is more worried about being loyal to people than actually wanting to win anything!

Brilliant, now just give Mayo, Hart and Frank Skinner contacts for life and we will have all the backroom staff we need.

Oatway will be excellent as a host/compare for the hospitality suite when Falmer is built.

Albion & England forever.

Maybe we should be scouting for new coaches on cruise ships?

I wouldnt, they are wank.

So The board are not going to use the CKR money on getting much needed players in but are willing to spend money on Oatway.

Right......

How do you know, they might make great coaches.

Great news! No really.

I hope the board can also find a job for Bas Savage soon - because he's the only person at the club who can moonwalk and to be honest, we'll need to celebrate every single one of the 14 goals we score next season to the absolute max.

Plus we could send him out to all the local schools as the official Albion moonwalking coach - which should come in handy when all those "football in the community" gongs get dished out.
