problem with the country is that we have too many lefties who think we should be awarding black music otherwise it might upset the ethnic minority.
last year mS dynamite won it, radio one now play less than 50% of music thats not R,n,B ,ragga ,dance shit. it really gets me when there are so many good BANDS out there with REAL talent, who dont get a look in, for me in the Indie/Rock scene its getting as good again as it was in the brit pop era only Radio and media in genral do not see this.

The Thrills, Athlete, Coldplay and Radiohead made albums of music that has been done before.

Previous 'ehnic' winners Roni Size/Reprazent, Talvin Singh, Ms Dynamite, Dizzee Rascal, were all awarded the prize probably because 'urban' music in this country is growing and therefore new to the ears of a few people.

Personally I agree that Ms Dynamite won as she brought out an album that was original and as for Roni Size, that album is a true classic but I have listened to Dizee Rascal and notihng in it seems new and original to me.

Previous winners such as portishead and primal scream to name a couple whose albums were indeed groundbreaking at the time and both of which I still listen to now many years down the line. Don't think Dizzee rascal will have that longevity.

The problem this year was there wa sno real classic albums released so it was kind of a best of a bad bunch situation this year.

Wozza has a point, altohugh in the past it has been pretty much assumed the award goes to more inovative albums it is actually for best british album.

For example Pulp won it for different class which was a qualit yalbum but not innovative at all.

Musicians don't credit it as a big award to receive anyway.

dizzie rascal, purely and simply is a terrible MC, however il credit him with being an average producer, even though he is lifting snares and hi hats from left right and centre.

Floetry is abysmal.

Dave the MOBO's were not started by lefties they were started by Black'uns!! back in about '96 when they first appeared RnB was dominating the charts (rather like now) but the big radio stations were not playing enough of it. This has flipped now, but they still continue...like say the Q awards continue for white rock music. In theory ALL music is of black origin though.

Dave I could also name u several hundred rappers that are not "angry"
