[Albion] Nutty Rules for Attending the Amex

Yes the rules are annoying and somewhat inconsistent in places but oh well I don't care. I'm just happy to see Football at the AMEX tomorrow and I'm glad I booked a ticket!

Addendum

I'm not criticising the club. And I'm grateful for the opportunity to attend. Just taken aback by some of things they are trialling. I know it's all subject to review, that's the point. Just a bit of an odd trial, of a seating arrangement that can't possibly be chosen over some of the alternatives of which the booking system is capable. Why not start with something better, and work backwards if it doesn't go so well?

Who the F@^k takes a bag to football ??? I can understand night games straight from work but really on a Saturday afternoon.

Depends who's in goal.

My first visit to the forum! Like social media, it seems to be an even mix of serious views and comedy. Ok, mostly comedy.

Mental

One of my phobias is of having things in my pockets. Like, sandwiches, reading glasses, wallet, water bottle, sunglasses, phone, pens, toothbrush, medications, book, more medications, spare book, waterproofs, just the usual stuff you all take to the football.

Sensible

Considering not one of the 2,000 readers has liked my OP, I'm quite impressed with the level of response. Maybe the abuse comes a few pages further down?

Some very fair points, well made. But I'm a miserable old sod with OCD and Covid doesn't always play to my strengths. Still, better than a miserable old sod with Covid.

Oh. So why are there going to be groups up to five? Why can't, say, six or seven sit together (but equally separated)?

BTW, if there will always be two or more seats between me and one on my kids and another two seats to another kid, I won't want to go - and nor will they. As part of the same family, we're obv in a bubble. Not need for social distancing.

As I understand it there will be one empty seat between each spectator, whoever they are. As I said there is no way the club is going to reconfigure the seating to suit different groups. It might change when numbers go up l suppose. Remember that though you and your children are one household many groups will be totally unrelated friends who have to social distance anyway.

I haven't between further than walking distance since March, except for work.

There's a pandemic, you know. It's to be expected. Holidays on hold.

Tomorrow there are four seats separating each spectator and when you need to leave the row you must pass each other back to back!

Too Late Now

I didn't read the rules until after we bought the tickets.

(I do hope this reply is attached to the thing I'm replying to, and not just chucked at the bottom of the thread.)

Berk.

BTW - the o/p is either a troll or a wind up. Definitely not an Albion fan.

I pay for TWO season tickets, and have done for years. And I want to sit with my son, not wave to him from the next row!

Yes but that is probably because its a trial under govt supervision and the number allowed is very small. The suggestion from the forum was every other seat and every other row but we just have to accept govt drives this not the club.

Is it just me or does the OP strike you as a variation of the definition of a panda? Post Shit and Leaves!

I suspect he is merely a mischief making troll, possibly disgruntled about his clubs failed transfer business!

Well I assumed that fans were expected to apply in their own family/social bubbles.

ONE empty seat between each spectator is not 1m. I'd rather be next to my son and two seats away from a random.

And the club could EASILY configure seating so there are numerous sets of single, two, three, four and fives seats, filled via the draw.

The whole situation is stupid. Only 0.05% of the population have the virus so what the hell are we worried about?
In truth I'm sure the club probably think the whole thing is a joke, but in order to get the go ahead for the game they had to agree to the silly rules.

It's like all the one-way arrows on shop floors. No one is taking a blind bit of notice of them but the shops have to show they've instigated this nonsense in order to be allowed to open.

Yep. But the correct us of an apostrophe in "womens'" rules out Timmy. Or Bushy. Or Two Profs. Or Goldstone. Or Leekbrook. Unless they have used lockdown wisely.

My guess is "the other 99.95% getting it".

In which case we'd better all stay indoors every winter in case we catch flu. And never cross a road ... big dangerous vehicles might knock you down. And never use a knife ... might cut your poor little finger. And never again fly in an aeroplane.

Life is full of risks. It's about managing them so that we can get on with our lives.
