I'm totally relaxed that we're unlikely to be losing our manager soon.

But sacking Nuno. I don't really get it. Yeh they've not done well, but he was their 5th or 6th choice. So what is their plan for getting a new manager, try their 7th or 8th choice?

I really don't see what the attraction would be for a manager to go there. If they were going to pronise a massive transfer budget sure'y they would have given it to the last couple of managers.

Further to drop for Tottenham I think

I think they are lining up Fonseca, or so the rumours say. They looked at him in the summer but decided against. Newcastle also interested so maybe recent results and the Newcastle interest prompting action now.

Dont see the point either. "New manager bounce" doesnt exist and its difficult to know what a manager can accomplish unless you give him significantly more time than they've done with Nuno.

That said I never really understood the hype around him. Yes he took a good Wolves team to good league positions and that is a good achievement but the talk about them playing some kind of exotic, attacking football... cant agree with that. They scored a goal and then they had their top class midfielders pass it around until the end of the game. Not particularly fun and not really a strategy he can do in Spurs where there is no Ruben Neves or Joao Moutinho.

According to the Athletic, Levy inserted a clause into the Nuno contract that he could be dismissed without compensation after one season if a top 6 finish were not achieved. So they sack him now they’ll have to pay him off. And whilst still paying Mourinho £4m a year until June 22 as they have to match the difference between what he would have earned at Spurs whilst now at Roma.

Joke of a club, but a lovely stadium.

That really does make me wonder just how bad a negotiator Kane's brother is.

Well interestingly, Potter is now second favourite to be the next Spurs boss.

Interesting because of all the recent speculation about Potter and Newcastle etc, Potter and just about any ‘big’ club he has never been fancied by the bookies.

I still don’t for the life of me see a man of Potter’s intelligence diving into that burning wreck of a club, but as I say, interesting….

Well he is the flavour of the day, lots of people are going to waste their money betting for him.

Didn't they have quite a bit of trouble filling the role in the summer when a) there was a transfer window allowing the new man to build a team before the season started, b) things weren't a mess on the field that needed sorting before the rebuild? It could be quite funny if they struggle again...

Poor sod looked lost on the touchline yesterday. Kane wanting away seems to have really dragged morale down, and Nuno can't seem to get them out of it. That, and his tactics don't seem to suit what the fans want.

Take the pay-off, go on holiday for a year, then pop up again... Oh to be a PL football manager!

Nuno is a patsy - who ever came in next was screwed -

Hasn’t GPott already said no thank you to Levy? Can’t see him changing his mind mid way through a season with Spurs looking even more of a basket case than before. As for sacking a manager, who was the 5th choice, 10 games in when they sit 8th is pathetic in the extreme.

The unlucky manager, picking up the collateral damage of obstinate Levy refusing to sell. Citeh aren’t even a rival, they’re light years ahead of Spurs in everything bar steel/concrete/£15,000 H Club seats.

Levy ‘won’ a childish in his mind battle, but Spurs lost the war. Rarely good for a club to enforce a contract against a star player’s wishes.

It is extreme which is why I dont really think its going to happen right now.

I remember media and fans sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last week and he looked pretty unsacked yesterday.

It's not Nuno Espírito Santo fault, he's walked into Levys mess

Why did he leave Wolves, do you know? I thought he had a very good thing going there, or were there some behind the scenes shenanigans that put paid to what seemed like being a long-serving managership?
