[Albion] Nuno sacked - Conte SINGED

Was just looking to see how much Spurs have spent in the past few years sacking managers - £20 million for Pochettino came up, but quite interesting also stories of league position, trophies won, and European qualification (or lack of) all affecting pay-out since Poch, hence Mourinho being sacked just before the Carabao final not after it. You'd either have to be supremely confident as a manager, or not too bothered about pay-outs when sacked to accept that kind of clause. Even worse for Nuno - 4th choice, uncommitted team and probably getting a reduced pay-out because of their position in the league. I hope he now does a David Moyes and goes to a club where he can prove himself.

Spurs are another nothing club with ideas above their station really. They should be competing but unless they start spending like Chelsea or City it is unlikely.

Flirted with the Champions League, 1 final which they didn't turn up to. Won a League Cup but that is about it.

Even Poch is over rated and still is based on his achievements at PSG.

So, you've gone from wtf has cyanide got to do with 11/11 to pretty standard for that era tbh..... right. Anyway, never mind I am just being precious as you say. Pray forgive me for having a pop at your Swanny (vom), the gobshite from Sweden (debatable and contested neutrality in WW2 and all).

Seriously ? Just leave it. We can all make such connections if we have a loaded agenda against someone.

Swanny is alright.

Yes on reflection that was a stupid comment to make, out of annoyance, and one I am embarrassed about now. But I still stand by my preciousness, of his original comment touching a nerve at this time of the year. And that's not because it was him who made it.

Poor sod looked lost on the touchline yesterday. Kane wanting away seems to have really dragged morale down, and Nuno can't seem to get them out of it. That, and his tactics don't seem to suit what the fans want.

Take the pay-off, go on holiday for a year, then pop up again... Oh to be a PL football manager!

I'm sure I read somewhere that Lrevy made some concessions to Nuno regarding backroom staff but there would be no pay-off if things went pear-shaped within a certain period into the contract. This seems to have enabled Levy to act quickly

We all over react sometimes. Swanny has had a history lesson out of this one anyway.

Villa fan thinking Potter may be tempted being a Solihull lad

They would worry me more than Spurs I think, being in Potter's home territory (though wasn't he a Bluenose? Not that that would be a great factor I wouldn't have thought). Also, they are not in the big six, but have a great deal of potential not currently being realised. Not sure money would motivate him that much, seeing as he is willing to bring players through. More the locality issue.

If Levy comes along and dangles 10x your current salary in front of any of us for doing the same job - I defy anyone not to be tempted.

I doubt Levy would offer that money unless it was for someone with a bigger CV. I am sure that GP would get a pay rise if he were to go there, but Levy will reserve such a hike for a (much) bigger name.

Wouldn't mind koeman if potter did leave (which he won't)

That's not a bad shout. But could koeman work on our wage structure?

I still want potter, I want him to grow with us and become a lewis Dunk, solly March figure.

Probably right, but I guess it depends on how much he wants a particular manager. If he really wanted Potter and Potter was reluctant to leave, going to take a big hike to make it happen. Although that all seems academic with Conte to arrive in London.

Nuno to Villa if Smith goes?

Dean Smith is going nowhere yet awhile. had a poor run of results recently, but he has plenty of credit in the bank having got Villa promoted to the big time, and a successful first season in the Premier League. The Villa board will give him time to put things right.

So its Conte? Great result for Spurs if they get someone that decent in, should have signed him last time around.

That's a blow for ManU, one less option available when they sack Ole.

Any clue yet on who Newcastle are going for?

If Conte says Doctor No to £16 million a season are we at the risk of GPotz being tempered by at least half of that if made?

Personally think GP will stay but that is some serious money on an 18 month deal
