Yes it's been mentioned before, but honestly they are illegible - anyone else agree. Can the Club not change the colour from yellow? I presume the Club didn't 'road test' the yellow?

Seriously, who cares? They need to see each others colours not numbers! Only the ref needs numbers :)

It basically sums up all the things the club get very wrong, be it this, a fundamental fraud with withdrawal of buses, 1901 now being a farce catering and the ticket on-line system basically telling porkies.

I will give Barber 3 months otherwise a P45 will arrive

I knew before kick off I was going to have a shite nite.
Sat in NW corner for a change as WSU not in use. Could not see players numbers, could not make out who they were on the pitch and speaskers were in audible. Kid behind kicked the back of my seat all night.
Bah. Hope Saturday in my own seat changes everything back to normal, especially a team with a winning mentality.

Numbers are ridiculous, might as well not have any.

Electronic advertising is pretty annoying too. Don't mind it most of the time but when a white background pops up I detest it.

Funnily enough my company are currently considering using overline, one of the advertisers, but it's a marginal decision so I will be suggesting the other guys after having my eyes blown by their ****ing ads tonight.

The yellow numbers look great with the shirts in my opinion.

On the last thread about this I posted the e mail I received from Paul Barber saying it couldnt be changed and that as many that complained liked the design so there wasnt a problem. In my e mail I suggested that if the yellow couldnt be changed perhaps they could put a black outline around the numbers.

Interesting reply that

Whenever things went wrong in the FO or on the pitch, Barber always had a cheery, positive response. Things were never as bad as they seemed. Whenever people, like the Southsiders, raised concerns about issues, there were always emails from people sent to him with the opposite view.

Here again is the reply received from Paul Barber

Dear Brian

Thank you for your email.

We are committed to the yellow numbering for the coming season. It is not
possible to change the design at this stage. The issue is not so much the
colour, it is that, for this season's design, we are not using a "patch" to
distinguish our stripes from the numbers. I do appreciate that this makes it
harder for some people to read but for others the different numbering and colour
is very popular. Next season, we move to a different shirt manufacturer so the
design will change.

Regards, Paul

Dear Mr Barber,
I am a ****wit and, therefore, can not tell the difference between humans without the use of large bright numbers. Can you please put neon numbering on our kit so I can tell if I am looking at El Abd or Lua Lua.
Thanks.

I'm a racialist so they all look the same to me :moo:

Like it or not, in a 30000 crowd, there are plenty of people who like some help on who's who. Among them all the reporters and commentators. And even among those of us who always go, there are lots without your brilliant eyesight who appreciate the help sometimes.

Trouble is, the numbers are supplied by an outside firm, licensed by the FL, so there are only going to be a set number of colour options available. 2 seasons ago we had a choice of white or black numbers, the white didn't show up on the away kit (Portsmouth) so for the next game they changed to black. Can't understand why they can't try something like that though, see how it works with one of the other available colours.
