NSC, I need your suggestions! I do a bit of portrait painting and looking to build up a catalog of "celebrity/icon" paintings that I can sell prints of. So just wondering who you'd consider having hanging up in your house. I'm thinking along the lines of musicians, actors, political figures rather than footballers! Can be from any era, in fact I prefer to paint people from previous eras.

So far have had requests to paint Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Run DMC, Blondie, Michael Jackson, Kurt Cobain, Lou Reed, Roni Size, David Beckham, Pamela Anderson, Che Guevara, Winston Churchill

Any more names appreciated, the more the merrier. Cheers

I've attached a recent picture I did of one of my mates to give you an idea of the kind of style I do...

If I was to choose one existing iconic portrait to hang on my wall, it would be this one ...

... taken in 1950, just up the road from Bracknell Towers.

Who knows who it is and who took the photograph?

When I was growing up we actually did have a portrait of a famous person hanging in our house: we had a painting of RSC director Sir Peter Hall. It's now in my mum's house and no doubt will pass to me in due course.

Not the first person I'd choose though - I'd have Patrick Leigh Fermor if it were up to me.
