NSC - split out discussion types into different forums?

Under your skin.
Changing the subject slightly to bannings if I may?.

Could I suggest that rather than straight bannings, which seem to be open to moderators fits of pique or pet hates which other moderators may be more tolerant of, could a suspension system be put in place and then the ban enforced or rejected as other mods log on and have the chance to review?. Maybe have three mods to agree either way?

On another messageboard I use their is a little bar below everyones Avatar. If you break the rules your bar fills up, if it becomes full then you are banned. For example if you post porn for no apparant reason in the middle of a normal thread with no warning then you get the bar 50% filled up.

This way if you are warned about something then you could appeal against it. This would mean another mod could check to see if you deserved it. If a Appeal is pointless and stupid then the ban % is doubled. If the appeal is sucsessful then you get the warning taken away.

If that makes sense.

most other forums are SHITHOUSE because they insist on segmenting discussion. its fine as it is, the big board, childish ramblings, and a few other special interest threads. NSC is like the bar at a pub, you over hear something and chip in, and anything is grist for the mill. likewise bannings seem fine, it doesnt need debate amongst the mods and it only underminds their authority.

It's a bit like standing at an all seater stadium, you stick to the rules and you don't get banned.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I like the mixed-bag of Albion rantings and thinking-of-going-to-Sarajevos and final-political-polls and dirty thoughts on girls dancing in centre-circles and miniature talks on the minute meaninglessness of day-to-day existence and collective disinterest in the interests of some. Don't change it Bozza. It might be grotty and pointless, but it's ours and pretty for seconds.

Keep it as it is,its the randomness and sometimes chaos that keeps it unique.

A gambling section would be a nice addition though.

I know I am only Palace scum but I just thought I would throw in my worthless opinion.

It may be worthless, but at least we've read it.

The Away Fans section on your board always strikes me as a place where no Palace fan ever goes. And, therefore, a complete waste of space.

The Away Fans section livens up a bit when Crystal Phallus posts,Dungheap, Wigman and Derbygull27 keep it quite interesting at times but in general I think you are right.

One thing I would never do is put an 'Away Fans' section on NSC.

I'd like to think that one of the really refreshing things about NSC is that away fans are welcome and we allow a fair bit of 'banter' to pass. On similar forums of most other clubs, away fans seem to have a real struggle to remain un-banned as even the smallest dose of club v club banter results in an instant banning.

The most curious thing..
No no no no

If you split it up, it will become dull and specialised. The whole beauty of the thing is the random lunacy you can find (football and BHA related or not)

I'd like an Albion secton as prefer reading the albion threads and ignoring the rest in general but clearly in the minority! :)
