first i have heard of this. but i can say that asda car park in doncaster has a ticket/ barrier system in operation during, before and after games. you need to produce your reciept to get out. one thing i would say is before this system was introduced getting in and out of the car park was an absolute nightmare on matchday. it would be good to get the extra seats. but pissing all everyday shoppers off in the meantime is not good relations with public or for future fans. surely there must be somewhere else that could be utillised. all you need is a field and a bus stop. sorry if im missing the point. but i wont be parking in asda for tonights donny, northampton game.

Another tactic is someone to pop by there every evening and swipe their petitions.

The job is a good'un.

I work opposite asda, i will pop over in my lunch breaks from monday and see if i can pinch any! i'll try my best and post up a report everyday on nsc to see how well i do.

This is today's Argus story:-

Albion fans call for store boycott

SUPPORTERS of Brighton and Hove Albion have launched a boycott of a major supermarket in protest over a parking row.

The club wants to increase its stadium capacity and has asked Brighton and Hove City Council to close the top stretch of Carden Avenue on some match days, allowing up to 200 cars to park along the road for up to seven hours.

Asda’s Hollingbury branch has launched a petition which it is asking shoppers to sign
against the proposal. The closure would lead to an unacceptable volume of traffic being pushed through Crowhurst Road, the superstore says.

People living nearby and other major retailers, including Matalan, Brantano, MFI, Carpetland and Tates, have backed Asda’s objections.

Albion supporters’ internet forum northstandchat.biz, which has 1,682 members, today called for a boycott of both of Brighton’s Asda stores.

Its statement said: “Traders in the area could benefit as football supporters use their
shops before or after matches.”

The supporters’ web site has recommended a number of alternative stores for fans to
shop at, including Asda’s biggest British rival, Tesco.

Asda manager Steve Hancock was unavailable to comment.

Filthy, you might be able to switch the petition forms so instead of being Anti the park and ride, it'll be pro the park and ride.

Cos people don't read what they sign sometimes.
