The whole thing is a disgrace

Don't see how if this bloke has no money he passed the FA's fit and proper test. Thought that was meant to weed out dodgy people or as in most of the FA rules is it not worth the paper its written on.

one has to suppose that not have a pot to piss in does not actually make you considered improper or in any way dodgy. just as well for many clubs.

the difference there is they can afford to pay the massive interest payments. the problem is all the others think they can do the same, that somhow merely being in the premier league generates wads of cash. whats amazing is that everyday people like us can see this is bollocks for all but a couple, but that wealthy successfull businessman cant.

What a pathetic article. The comments from people who understand what a joke it all is are far more insightful.

I am absolutely disgusted that that shower of shit are planning to borrow their way out of debt, after all that has happened so far. The only people who I have more contempt for (except Palace obviously) are the tossers who are prepared to lend these jokers the cash.

With all the little local businesses 80% light on the money they were owed and second rate players still pocketing eighty grand a month the Football League and FA ought to hang their heads in shame. There needs to be a Fit and Proper persons test run on the twats at the FL and FA, never mind the clubs.

And remembering the war that saw the back of that **** Archer thirteen years ago, how come we never see or hear anything from the skates? Not that is apart from that nutter whose stupid name I can't even be bothered to remember Mr blah blah Portsmouth?

Wouldn't you expect to see them marching on the FA? protesting at games? all over the media? campaigning to get some proper decent local people involved? OK proper, decent AND local might be a bit of a tall order, but for forks sake!

wankers the lot of em

Says everything about the state of the club when even the owner/chairman won't risk putting any more of his own money into it (probably borrowed any that he has against the club's security!!) - complete joke, they should be down at the bottom of div 2 as we were when we were penniless.

Excellent article. Says it all really. Was it worth the gamble ? Of course. Who cares about HMRC and the local businesses that can whistle for a fraction of their (and our) money.

Shameful.

I'm advocating a "20/5" campaign against the swindling sibling botherers. It works like this. Fans of every team about to visit the cesspit that is Fratton Park email PFC to ask whether they can pay 20% of the cost of a ticket over 5 years. Would love to see the responses turning this offer down which of course invite further correspondence asking why exactly they think that "deal" is ok for their creditors but not their customers?

As I said the other day it can only be a matter of months before they are swindling the Revenue and local businesses once again.

No, they (we) got 20% of it.
Or at least we might do, in 5 years or so.

Scumhampton and Leeds paid 100% didn't they even though it was an outside investor that came in and saved them. If 6 months later they spend ridiculous money it's annoying but at least kind of fair. Portsmouth is completly different and for me similar to MK Mongs as a club I'll never be able to hope survive. Even Palarse I wouldn't wish to go out of existance (maybe into non league lol but) yet these Portscum just a horrible club. Sorry for the few decent fans they must have but hey if they're not even going to arrange protests? What's the world coming too :(

Lawrence and Kitson are probably their best players - they have gambled on these 2 keeping them in the championship. If it all gos tit up - so be it !

Yeah but who are they going to borrow it from? Noone is crazy enough to give it to them. Didn't they only have to pay back 50p to the £ or something?

When they got close to going bust a few months back wasn't it revealed that John Utaka (I think) was still earning £80k a week as he'd signed a 5 year contract? Amazingly, he seemed unmotivated to move elsewhere.. I doubt Nugent, Lawrence, Kanu et al come cheap either

not only have they signed Lawrence ,according to some of todays papers they are trying to sell him to West Ham for£4m, despite there being rules that you cant sign & transfer a player in the same transfer window. Still we all know that the rules everybody else sticks to dont neccesarily apply to pompey.
