I feel for his experience and know how he is pretty much all we could expect, let's face it we are not going to attract top players here so at this moment in time I think it's a very good and astute piece of business by the club.

It will be interesting to see if the mood changes on here if he starts well. Personally, if you take away the Palace stuff, I think it is a good signing. Therefore it is a good signing. And all Murray did was accept a better offer from another job (like a lot of people do every day). There is no reason why rivalries should mean anything to footballers unless they're from the local area or have been at a club a long time. And, to me, the fact he never celebrated a goal he scored against us shows a lot of respect.

Unfortunately and no matter how you dress it up, Palace got Murray at his peak, he was 27 and he scored for fun for them and basically got them promoted. We have got him at the back end of his career, nearly 33 and with a couple of injuries behind him as well. However he has never been quick but he knows where the net is and that's all we can hope he can hit the ground running and score a few

Completely agree. We missed out on his best years but I don't blame Murray for that, I blame it on Poyet. Murray is clearly keen to come back and play for us so we should all get behind him and forget the past as a good season for him will improve our chances of promotion.

For me my expectation of Murray is wholly dependent on the quality of the other striker who surely must arrive.

If that player is a proper statement signing the Murray deal should be excellent.
Meh signing and I'll not be that impressed/confident.

Each to their own but I find that a bizarre attitude to take. He never claimed to be a Brighton fan or kissed the badge or anything else that some footballers do to win over gullible fans. If anything I admire his honesty to come back to a club where he was so unpopular.

Forget the Palace, he went for more money than Gus wanted to Pay, which is something we would all do to better your income, given that he had a young family. Remember Steve Coppel, a true gent and served both clubs with distinction. Just support him and forget the Palace connections, it's a rivalry not a hated, got loads Of mates who are Palace fans and rather talk to them about football than plastic Man U fans. By the way I did not want him back as think he is past his best, but will support him 100%

The whole "he didn't clap me at Brentford" saga, the "he didn't run for the ball at Leeds even though he was injured" stuff, the "He's slapped in a transfer request so he hates us and it's not because of a serious issue that is happening in his private life", or the "One in ten Glenn" nickname...

Never has such a good player been so misunderstood by the people that should have adored him, well, until similar happened with Ashley Barnes...
