I sincerely hope the ground is nearly empty

****ing ridiculous kick off time and appalling services ( understandably) for travel.

Add to that a pandemic exploding and a ****nuckle in charge too scared to do anything about it due to his own vanity.

The club have your money, stay the **** at home.

If you don't know already it'll be a shit game ( if its not called off . . . ). We'll go down 1-0 just before half time, despite dominating posession and looking like an 80 year old Hugh Hefner, ( silky but no penetration) then in the second half be crap for a while and salvage a draw via a fluke/worldie/penalty somewhere between 85 & 110 minutes.

Subbuteo ska and wine would be my suggested alternative

Or scalextric soul and port

10,000 would be interesting. Will probably be more with Brentford bringing 1,800.

I’m going for 13,998.

But will we ever get to find out?

I don't think that the odd AA meeting would go amiss either. :D

I've actually been to the odd AA meeting and they are a bit odd. I was highly disappointed that there was no wine or cheese - don't all meetings now come with them ?

Its just a write-off, isn't it.

Who in their right mind come late afternoon on Boxing Day, would wish to embark on the absolute MISSION of getting to the Amex and back for an 8pm ko ? By 4pm I will already have been balls-deep in Amstel and mulled wine, then eyeing up a nice Merlot with a Southern Comfort chaser, a roast beef sandwich, a barrel of Twiglets and some cheesy footballs.

By then I'll be so firmly wedged in my armchair that a pack of wild mustangs and five Shane Duffy's spacked out on steroids would not be able haul me from it. As we gently pass the ball from side to side, my Bailey's will lurch dangerously in my hand as I gently drift off into oblivion, eventually waking up in a pool of dribble at around midnight to clock our inevitable dull 0-1 reverse on SSN.

Does Mrs Easy 10 know about Amstel ?

High praise indeed, thank you kind sir. I speak from the heart.

Don't start me off though. Plenty more where that came from.

Great post

That's the thing: added into the mix is the fact that it's pretty much guaranteed to be a dull as **** game with little in the way of goalmouth action, given our form to date plus injuries etc.

Has there ever been a less appealing game to attend given everything about it?? (priestfield era aside)

There have been loads more unappealing at Withdean in pouring rain. Brentford aren’t a boring team and it could be a really good game. It could also be our first win for ages. I don’t think I’m alone in looking forward to it and getting some fresh air after 2 days of family stuff.

Hey offer me a point now and l'd bite your hand off, there is no way we are going to win the game.

By the way, l'd have agreed if you had said Scalextric, stilton, and port.

I could not disagree more with this. The club had an opportunity here to make a real statement, to back the fans that they were stating 6 months ago they couldn’t live without. To publicly question the sanity of this KO time. They did **** all. They don’t care.
I’m extremely disappointed with both our chairman and vice-chairman on this issue.

I'm glad to see that Barber's PA is here on NSC and able to verify that the club did feck all about the KO time and were more than pleased to fund the extra busses, P&R facilities and the complete nightmare of work it's taken to sort out the various issues of transport, stewards, security, groundstaff etc... So that this game could go ahead.

There's no way that a 'fan' would assume the worst from the bloke who has had to spend countless hours sorting out the complete cock-up of a KO time.

As I said on another thread this fixture, and the way it's been handled, has been my "final straw". Non-league football can do far more with the £1k or so I spend on season tickets, £1k or so, on travel and countless £'s on beer .... although I'll still spend that but at far less than £4 a pint! This season, my 21st with a season ticket, may be my last or, if I bottle it, I'll buy one ticket instead of three. Yes, I'll get tickets to the odd game, but £300+ a year on parking and £1k a year on season tickets will stop.

Money talks, it really is as simple as that. If the money was right and Sky insisted on it, then the match would be played at 3am

We already know that the income generated through fans paying to come through the turnstiles is an absolute pittance in comparison.

Money really is the root of all evil.

Well said that man👍👍 As long as a lot of the OAP’s on here are tucked up in bed with a cup of cocoa all well and good.

I think your post reflects a general trend among a significant number of the Albion's longtime hardcore support. The Seal Has Well And Truly Broken. When proper fans like yourself and, say, Superphil and Thunder Bolt and very many others - including all genuine unsung heroes with the thankless task of commuting from the likes of Devon, North Wales and, yes, Faversham, are now seriously questioning whether to renew, points to a seismic shift. OK, none of us are getting any younger and we're in the middle of a global pandemic, but even so the general malaise seems to go far deeper. VAR, chopping and changing of ko times, crappy transport options, it all has a cumulative effect. Major review and reset urgently needed IMHO
