Not re-newing season ticket next year.........................

I cancelled Sky last year and they write and phone every five minutes demanding to know why and begging me to return.

Drives me mental to be honest.

It would make sense for the club to follow up non renewals, from a business perspective. A percentage would do a U-turn and the club would know why people chose not to renew.

I wasn't going to Renew mine either as I only got to about 9 home games this season and probably would only do the same this one coming.
I have a daughter who is only 4 1/2 who i want to spend more time with.
I also have the family business to run with 25+ employees.
Its also a 330 mile round trip to home games.

But F**K IT.
Its Something i love and want to be part of.
Also if Tony Bloom is prepared to put his money in, i'm prepared to do my bit .:bhasign::amex:

You are wrong on Both Counts Scouse23and I and all the people who used to go the Eclipse before the match at the Goldstone have been supporting the club for 40+ years.

Why cant a statement be taken at face value? Last season was some of the most Boring football we have seen. The conversation on the concourse was how awful we are playing etc.

I wasn't questioning the reasons why this fella's not renewing his season ticket, I just can't fathom why he thought it would be a good idea to come on here and start a new thread about it. :shrug:

You are right. There are many working within the club that simply couldn't give a toss, with some of these having pretty key roles in terms of us supporters. With the development of the club it is inevitable to a degree but very sad that there is less and less care. The belief seems to be that supporters feelings are unimportant as there will be a continuing stream of new fans. Sadly wrong.

As it happens I'm renewing four of my five season tickets but various things have changed my passion for the club; not the on field performances but off field performance and attitude.

I guess we can only talk from experiences, and the outcome is bound to have a bearing on how you perceive the club. For some balance, here's an example of (what sounds like) the other extreme:

For the Charlton game, I was on crutches, and couldn't bend my leg, so I thought my normal seat in the Family stand wouldn't be the best. I phoned the club to ask if there was anything they could do, and they put me in one of the seats in the disabled area in the North West corner, with the two Juniors directly behind me. The tickets were put by in the North reception (or whatever that building next to the club shop is – the one that DOESN'T lead to Dick's bar), to save me queuing up in the shop or going up flights of stairs unnecessarily, and the whole experience couldn't have been easier.

The staff I dealt with could, of course, said "No, not possible" in the first instance, or they could have made it much more difficult than it was, but they didn't. They went the extra yard, to look after me, and I was very grateful. To top it all, it was a cracking game, and got a completely different perspective on the match, AND the boys got to see all the subs warming up. The only other thing I could have wished for was a phone call later that evening to make sure I got home OK :lol:

have been a season ticket holder since we were playing home games at Gillingham. Last year was so boring, can count the games I actually got passionate about on one hand. Really excited about all the London and close by away games we will have possibly, so have decided along with my son and 6 others who also have not renewed to go to away games only. Could be Orient & QPR, along with Brentford, Fulham, Millwall, Charlton, Watford & Reading. Bring it on. Also can't believe no one has been in touch from the club to find out why we haven't renewed, this club has changed for the worse, the people running the club now have no empathy with the fans, which is a very sad state of affairs.

If only there was some kind of change afoot that may or may not improve the quality of football?

Seems odd after years of loyalty that you choose now not to renew your season ticket when who knows what the football will be like next season.

i got a letter from the club last season offering me a half season ticket and an automatic upgrade for a season ticket for this season just finished i'm with scouse23 on this one and don't understand the dozey goodbye gestures from some on here , not everyone NEEDS FOOTBALL IN THEIR LIFE 24/7 SO GIVE THE BLOKE SOME CREDIT, anyone deluded to think they're so special for having a season ticket needs to get a grip IMHO

I've had email correspondence with Paul Barber, David Jones (the FD), Paul Camillan and Paul Rodgers on a variety of issues, and have always found them to be speedy at responding, courteous, fair and decent.

Agreed i have had lots of e mail correspondence with paul barber he responds quickly and pofessionally even giving indepth analysis of team selection!!

Me too,Paul Barber answered my question within 17 minutes and my question was sent at 20.02...most of the Emails to the club get attended too pretty quick.

Did not think my post would get so many responses, have to say that's not the reason I did it, the reason I am not renewing is purely financial, for me and my son it would of been £1300 a year, combined with the fact he will be joining the armed forces, and what we were served up last year, I felt over £100 a month of my hard earned money could be spent in better areas, e.g. an away day game close by maybe in season 2014-15, and if I am not with Albion fans who gives a toss. The last straw came when on the Tuesday before the first leg against derby I phoned the club and e mailed to see if they would wish happy 18th birthday to my albion mad season ticket son during the game ar some point, only to be told that all 12 spots allocated at half-time had been taken, and there was no way they could squeeze a mention in for him. 37 years I have supported this club, yes in lots of bad times, where honestly I enjoyed following the albion more, and at the moment it just feels that there really is no connection with employees of a big business with over 20,000 season ticket holders, and no one at the club really giving 2 hoots about the die-hards who have been there through the dark years. I really don't expect a pat on the back to say thanks for being around when we had no money, it just leaves a bit of a hollow feeling, similar to someone you know really well having changed so much for the worse, and not being able to influence the outcome. Who knows how many others feel like me now, or who might feel like this in the future, maybe it's just how football has evolved for the albion, and at the moment I don't want to be part of that experience being dished up at the Amex.

You're absolutely right, it's all about personal experiences and mine of late haven't been great. It's only when things go a little wrong that you experience the real character of people/organisations I guess. That said, your experience sounds great, and I'm genuinely pleased to hear it.

I'm really not someone who gets pleasure out of moaning about the club, I'm just extremely pissed off with certain individuals at present. I'm sure I'll get it off my chest and get over it.

I've renewed my season tickets too (4 out of 5 anyway) and am looking forward to next season already regardless of some of the tw@ts that I've dealt with recently. Bring it on!

But if your son is joining the army then it won't cost you over £100 a month.

I think you are overreacting. Like you, I've supported the club for well over 30 years, and I saw some disappointing performances last year, but now is not the time to chuck it in.

I think you'll enjoy the away games, but I hope you'll be back for home games too. Amex needs as many vocal supporters as possible. Come on back.
