It's May, and the manager who is supposedly the purveyor of such "boring football" has left, as will a number of players, ergo there is every reason to expect next season to be different. If I was going to quit, it wouldn't be now, as I'd feel a complete tit if the club got in an exciting new manager and a raft of signings with real potential over the next three months.

The decision not to renew would have been taken weeks ago, not now, so the timing of the post is clearly designed to generate a few responses in a week when things haven't gone right at the club.

There are so many Know it all's on here

You are wrong on Both Counts Scouse23and I and all the people who used to go the Eclipse before the match at the Goldstone have been supporting the club for 40+ years.

Why cant a statement be taken at face value? Last season was some of the most Boring football we have seen. The conversation on the concourse was how awful we are playing etc.

Yeah. And it's only now you decide the football doesn't meet your expectations?

Not at Withdean under Hinshelwood or the second coming of Micky Adams, or at Gillingham, when losing 4-0 at home to Darlington, or during the latter days of the Barry Lloyd era at the Goldstone?

Sure, sure. Sounds completely reasonable to me. Walk away. I just hope that the team playing in away matches at Griffin Park turns out to be considerably less dull than exactly the same team playing home matches at the Amex is*.

I dont understand anyone not renewing unless its a financial issue.

It will be easy to get tickets at the home games, despite what the club says the attendance is there are always seats available.

Who said that people didn't walk away during darker times since the 60's and 70's you do make a lot of assumptions.

People can come and go as they please, if they don't like something they can leave if they do like something they can stay or come back, its their choice, if scouse23 and our band of 6 has chosen to not renew that's up to us.

Following the club blindly is a dangerous game, Seat £650, Parking £300, food etc made the lack of passion from players earning over 12k per week hard to take.

Personally as well as not enjoying what I was served every week I not have to work on Saturdays as my business is expanding, however, I believe I would still not have renewed next year anyway.

You are right. There are many working within the club that simply couldn't give a toss, with some of these having pretty key roles in terms of us supporters. With the development of the club it is inevitable to a degree but very sad that there is less and less care. The belief seems to be that supporters feelings are unimportant as there will be a continuing stream of new fans. Sadly wrong.

As it happens I'm renewing four of my five season tickets but various things have changed my passion for the club; not the on field performances but off field performance and attitude.

The OP still hasn't advised whether he told the club in March. If he has only just decided then he has already made two payments towards next seasons ticket, assuming he is on the DD. At least the club will benefit from his cancellation fee!

I'm really amazed this argument gets trotted out so often on here. Fans made allowances for the quality of football if they know the club is financially struggling, as we have been in past eras. They are less inclined to do so when we have 30,000 crowds and are signing ex-Premiership players. Not rocket science is it

Cancelling is about personal choice so fair play if you want to do something else on saturday , but why are people BLEATING once they've cancelled because the club didn't BEG them to come back :facepalm:

ALL clubs are financially struggling, it's the nature of modern football, so you'd better start making allowances.
