As a kid, our birthday treat was mixed grill at the Berni Inn, which later turned out to be Swifts; or the Pickwick down East Street.

What was the name of the 'Burger Bar opposite the 'Suite'

Pretty sure the burger place was Grubbs.

I've just remembered what a superb pub the Seven Stars was when it was still furnished with the original Victorian / Edwardian fixtures and fittings. The classic horseshoe-shaped serving area in the middle, with lots of small bars and rooms off it.

They ripped the place apart to turn it into one big, open space. And it stopped being a pub and became some sort of "entertainment" centre.

Yup, the afore-mentioned Old Vic.

Skins, scooterists and ska bands.

Anyone remember Cripes crepe restaurant in Hove somewhere?

I have memories of it as a child but can't for the life of me remember where it was

My typical Saturday night consisted of starting off in the Pavillion Tavern, going off to the Old Vic, Smugglers, Hennekys and then around to Swifts. Then before closing time off to Coasters.

After Coasters (hello Rory) I went to the pool parlour (or Ritas as it was changed too). It was my then girlfriends uncles place. God it was dodgy or it appeared to be for an 18 year old.

Happy days

I used to work for the two old queens who ran the the Lorelei in the Lanes on Sundays when I was 16 (hey - football on Sats). Waitressing, cooking, washing-up... One of the first places in Brighton to put Chips with grated Cheese on the menu and the nicest tea garden in Brighton. All built over now to make Casa Don Carlos.

Alhambra, Buccaneer, the Vault - YAY!

Went to Le Grandgousier. It was six courses for a tenner - one of which, I remember, was a basket of raw vegetables. Great place though.

Uncle Sams on West Street :(

They were probably on the menu as cruditee though  another course was a chopping board with a couple of loaves and a few salamis that you also had to chop yourself I think.

It seems loads of us used to start our Saturday night crawl in Shades.
I remember we used to to start of about 8ish & try & spot a decent bird in there. Then around 2 am in Busbys I'd be chatting her fat ugly mate up.

When the pubs had shut, I'd failed to pull and the clubs were all full......it was time to go to the Bonanza where you could get an egg and chips until 1am.

Ah Brighton the place to be!
