Nah just found out it was Bar centro. Bar med was along western road, its now the providence.

Tcha, it brings back so many memories of my days designing The Brighton Source magazine...

The Alhambra Bar where they used to allow bands to play and then go around with a pint jug, this saved the manager spending money paying the bands. It was owned by a compny called Lion Taverns (Mrs Maxwell Josephs) who also owned The Quadrant, The Walmer Castle and a gay pub whose name alludes me in Silverman? Street just off of Western Road near Preston Street.

No it was later called the Nellie Peck in the mid 80's early '90's, after that it was reasonably safe to drink in !

I remember Blackpool fans stabbing somebody in there one saturday lunchtime in 1987

For the real mod dives,

Florida rooms and the starlight rooms and then just hanging around the square (Castle Square).

Also, at one time down West Street, 101 Club - absolutely brilliant. Small faces played there all night in '65, everyone absolutely stoned.
