Just get a fan coach. Who could be bothered with all this stress and all these changes? Public transport is an utter disgrace in this country.
Because you can't have a beer on the coach. Some of us are young people and don't want to be stuck in silence for 4 hours each way, not being dropped at the ground 2 hours before kick off, being able to try different pubs, and stop off in different towns and most importantly have a laugh. Train travel to away football is one of life's greatest pleasures IMO, a day out with your mates on the piss. Its only a faff if you make it, or your entire football experience is working how quickly you can get away from the ground and go home.

The coach was always last resort in my young days. We used to take a bottle of coca cola. Very strong it was too.

By the time we reached the M25 coming home, choruses of 'Nellie the Elephant' were ringing out at the back of the coach. All sober spirited, of course...

Brighton to St Pancras, Kings Cross to Peterborough, Peterborough to Norwich, is the ONLY route without buses this does take longer than the route via Royston however, the train between Peterborough and Norwich can be a little bit chaotic at times, as it originates in Liverpool, but all going as planned should be fine.
I think tickets would cost more too via Peterborough, as not a permitted route?

An uninterrupted train journey to the match is absolutely a pleasure. But as you can see from these recent posts, no one will be enjoying that journey much this weekend. Sounds like a total nightmare but fair enough, the kids may enjoy the right larf.

It’s obviously an age thing. We’re driving up and stopping over for a couple of nights. That’s how you enjoy an away game as an older fan. Take your time, check out some nice restaurants, visit the castle and Sainsbury Gallery at UEA. Chat with the locals over a pint or two. Learn a bit about the place. Maybe enjoy a walk along the river on Sunday before heading back. Each to their own. I’ve been to a few aways by coach when I just didn’t have the time to stop over. Preferable to replacement buses and 4- or 5-leg journeys each way. IMO.

When I was a lot younger I used to catch the train to London Victoria and then hop on adjacent National Express to Norwich. Easy peasey.

Only problem was the onboard jolly hostess had an arse the size of a small country…(ba ba bab a bab)

I'm pretty sure the 2 coach carriages will have a extra carriage
This is East Midlands Railway, you’ll be very lucky if the delay is less than 30 mins when arriving into Norwich.

It will 99% be two carriages and likely be a class 158 train. It runs as four carriages between Liverpool and Nottingham and then divides - half continuing to Norwich and the other half heading back to Liverpool and attached to another train.

It’s only two changes from Brighton, that would ordinarily be one. It’s far worse to a lot more destinations IMO.

Tbf I had a look at last weekend, and on the whole they ran with at most 5 minute delay, so may not end up being a issue.

No idea, but @jackalbion must surely know!
I think the answer is sadly no, but who’s checking 😂. Had a driver threaten to take us back to Southampton a few years back on the way to Bournemouth in the cup for drinking, and someone was blasting the dukes of hazzard theme out their phone, so I can see why 😂😂😂😂.

I hate to upset some younger fans, but back in the good ole days, the players travelled to an away match by train and the fans travelled in carrages behind them on the same train. You never missed a match. The trains ran on time and there was a wonderful togetherness.

Now PB if only you could.......

although thankfully the team weren't on the same train as the fans for the infamous Forest game

Not just the young ones.

"What a fun time we had on that Seagull Travel coach" said no one ever.

Saturday is going to be shenanigans.
