Not me my boyfriend, didn't even do anything!
Beautifully summing up my problem with the whole situation.

Until people actually honestly admit what they did and say (all the words) this thread is pointless and I have no sympathy for the complainer.
We seem to have the politest fans in the country.

Thats not factually correct is it, you need to expand on the situation and dialogue between him and the steward.
Great second post BTW

For everyone toddling off to work, what would happen if while doing your job someone told you to f-off or stick you're f-ing ... ?

I doubt many people would laugh it off and carry on regardless.

Either you or Postman Pat is not telling the truth - it is getting very confusing now

The guy in the black jacket surrounded by stewards in the video is a mate of the OP. He is the one this thread is about, he appears to have been removed and taken to the police station as a result of asking "does anyone mind if I stand", he has been suspended for the remainder of the season and cannot sit in the North Stand if he chooses to re-apply for a season ticket next season.

In the video there is a guy in a beige jacket and a baseball cap, he is my brother, he tries to get the North Stand to stand up in the video. He was not removed at the same time, but was not allowed to return after half-time. He is also suspended till next season, has to sign a behaviour order and also cannot sit in the North Stand next season.

So to answer the question, this thread is not about the guy in the beige coat, but he was ejected at half-time. I think LB was answering the first question and not the 2nd.

Hope this clarifies.

Surely the crux of this matter is that apart from 'standing'...(as were many, many others in the North Stand) you appear to have been accused....and found guilty of inciting the crowd. I find this most odd that the club seem to have held their internal enquiry (presumably from stewards reports) and yet, at no time have allowed your side of events....and possibly witnesses ...to be heard. This seems inherently wrong to me and seriously lacking in proper justice.

Should the FSF get involved, this will mean a lengthy enquiry, a lot of valuable lost time re work for the defendant etc.....and expense to the club.

Should the club not already have in place a procedure to hear both sides of the story in the cold light of day, before making their judgement....?

I well remember reading in detail the last FSF enquiry at the club and it was very, very clear that the clubs internal inquiry was severely lacking in detail....and indeed honesty from certain individuals.

So the club learned nothing from the last time then? Considering how damning that report was I am surprised and can only see the same outcome.

Corrected for you.

Put me down as one that can't fathom the club's milatryesque intransigence. It might not be relevant but I've never been to an away game and done anything other than stand. I've got a lot of sympathy for those being ejected for merely standing

I would have but I just don't see any credibility in statements similar to ones like this:-

he appears to have been removed and taken to the police station as a result of asking "does anyone mind if I stand"

If that's is all that was actually said, then I'll be doing a full 180 degree turn on my stance, but I'd need a hell of a lot of convincing.

There was an answer I assumed 'no', and a subsequent standing escalation with stewards.
HONESTLY tell us how that went and we'll know where our sympathies lay.

For all we know that could be what he said and the steward has come to the conclusion he has refused to sit down on request. The steward only has to say he was spoken to in an intimidatory manner (raised voice) and the control room will look at the CCTV and authorise his ejection.

I'm not buying it, short of being there, or at the turnstile a couple of weeks ago, it's a moot point which kind of ends here.

I just can't accept we have employed the Stasi's militant wing as stewards, and all our fans always act and speak like Bertie Wooster.

(cue my thread in 10 days time, I can't believe the stewards ...)

I believe some of the stewards from the Withdean era re-applied for jobs at The Amex.

I have to agree with you. It's hard to believe that he was just thrown out without warning. I support standing and do so at away games. The problem here and a lesson for everyone is when you are asked or told by a steward to sit, then just do it. You are not going to win a battle here. When he has gone then stand again if you wish.

Well that's not a lie, that's just withholding the whole truth.

Either way you cut it, it's welcome on this thread.

pity this lot do not grow a backbone and start these tactics with the away support
I hate to even mention a certain home game soon but it going to be interesting how the Albion stewards cope with them
the last home game with this lot there was one guy in the 1901 club seats giving it some and they could not even cope with one

Just going by this rant on the thread:

My seat is right behind the guy who was kicked out and he done nothing wrong, he told the steward that if someone behind him wanted him to sit down then he would and he was not at all aggressive towards the stewards, there were police all ready and waiting in the concourse so it was obvious they wanted to kick people out. When the crowd started having a go at the steward he went off but came back with about 3 policemen at half time when a large section of the crowd had gone into the concourse and took the guy out, the guy didn't swear or resist and went peacefully. I would understand if he had sworn or been aggressive but he did nothing wrong. Sort it out Barber.
