Won't the existing SWC fans mostly just switch with the away fans? Where are the singing fans coming from?
Not likely in my case, I am quite high up in the top section of the SWC near the start of W1A... My view from there was specifically selected corner perspective, I won't be happy with a lower behind the goal view.... unless maybe if it is officially designated a singing section.

There is something intrinsically weird about starting a chant at the football. Anyone who feels the urge is likely to have been (or still be) the class joker, whose quips hit the mark only one time out of ten, or some pissed-up arse, or both. These people imagine they have the charisma and leadership of Lawrence of Arabia (as played by Peter O'Toole).

hahaha he got a f**king Palestine flag out today and got a blocking from the stewards, rightly so, the pleb. Not having that shit cause division here and in the stands. But doing that against Spurs? RETARD.

I was under the impression the new tier would seat around 750 fans, there’s no chance there’s that many in the South tier.
Same but different. Corporate shelf. Just more boxes. They’re clearing out the commercial offices to make room for lounges. Those lounges need seats.

Indeed. What a plum.

From the river to 'into the sea' with him.

'f***ing' Palestine flag?

I have heard account that there were Israeli flags in the Spurs end?

What would happen if you fancy the seat but not a sing-song?

Hopefully you also know this has nothing to do with the current troubles.

We have been led to digress (perhaps unnecessarily) on a North Stand expansion thread, though I'd suggest that public support of Israel or Palestine does in some way involve itself in the current troubles (alternatively it could be seen as insensitive from both sides)

There are often many Israeli flags on Tommy Robinson marches for example. As there are many Palestine flags on the stop the Genocide marches in London etc etc.

The point here is I have never seen a Palestine flag at the Amex, only seen a mention here because I’m guessing one person thought it was clever to wind up the Spurs fans by waving it.

I did see the Israel flag in the away end and thought it’s just a Spurs thing and nothing new.

You've made your viewpoint quite clear 👍🏻

Also high up in corner of SWC and the perspective from there (imo) is one of the best for following play. Being moved directly behind the goal as often the case for away games will be a massive downgrade for me.

I definitely think there's scope to market this hospitality shelf to more vociferous fans who want to benefit from an improved view, a pub style bar and better facilities.

I'm sure there's 750 fans who would pay north of £1500 a season and plenty that would pay £100 plus a match for access to a relaxed hospitality experience where they can wear what they want and sing along with the north.
As a 1901er who still has a ST in the North, I would love to move my tickets to the North Shelf. The club could market it as a 1901 tier with atmosphere.

Exactly. I'm in the camp of let's try anything to get an atmosphere going but I have never heard a drum help an atmosphere. They are ALWAYS annoying, normally led by some goblin who just loves the sound of their weird little drum tunes (hello Arsenal) and make me want to garrote the instigator. See also goal music - the most irritating, ludicrous and pointless creation ever at a football match.
I don't think that's completely true. But the problem is, the sort of person that wants to be the drummer, is always going to be the sort of person that you describe there. All a drummer should do is hit the simple drum beat when a chant starts, nothing else. No stupid little solos or anything like that. Plenty of foreign teams have drummers that make the atmosphere better, rather than trying to be the atmosphere themselves.

The best (only?) atmosphere I've seen with a drum in the UK was Boro away when we missed out on promotion. It worked really well there.
