Labour now in the lead.
Yep. That's interesting. The poll started off with a strong Tory lead and has now swung leftwards. I can only put this down to the fact that the stay-at-home-never-go-out NSC keyboard warriors voted early, while the party-going-booze-and-rock-and-rollers waited to vote until they'd got back home and sobered up.

I'm amazed that there are still eight people that would vote Lib Dem.

It's fine saying we need 500,000 new homes...maybe we do...but then you need, more doctors, schools, jobs, shops, water supply,roads,infrastructure...would be better to cut down on immigration which labour gave us with our open door policy....thanks Blair....

I agree with you. Immigration levels are far too high in this country. We can't stop EU immigration but if we wanted we could completely halt immigration from outside the EU. I think the reason we never do is becuase the government is too scared of the stupid European Court of Human Rights. I only want people in this country if they really can contribute something, i.e Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Business people. I can't honestly see what benefits it is now bringing the country, and what it will bring in the longterm. If someone can outline the benefits, I would like to know what.

Bloody hell. People still vote Labour? :nono:

Afraid so...some people never learn....famous for their last defeat....'There's no money left'....all we get under Labour are strikes and disruption...remember when we could'nt bury the dead, bags of rubbish everywhere...but some people are under the illusion that Labour is for the working man...this coalition is'nt much better....till we get a leader who will stand up for the British people and the British values we will tumble along with this wishy-washy fumbling apologetic way of pleasing the Euro countries.

Have I read this correctly...?

"stay-at-home-never-go-out" i.e. people aware that that the continual 'spend, spend, spend' with borrowed money, is unsustainable, vote Tory.

""party-going-booze-and-rock-and-rollers" i.e. people still getting pissed, spending money they don't have, avoiding reality....vote Labour.

Are you suggesting that the Tories are for the working man? I think not. Fact is that when it comes to an election most people are probably voting for what they think is the least worst option. Unfortunately, CMD is turning into an abject failure which, when you recall that he failed to win an election that was put on a plate for him by Brown, is no surprise. He has a chancellor that has probably done more u-turns than anyone else in history. They say that this is because they are listening whereas anyone with an ounce of common sense would suggest that they haven't thought through the proposals properly in the first place. He blindedly trusted a man who worked at the heart of News International ignoring all the smoke surrounding him and now finds that man not only seemingly involved in the phone hacking scandal but also on a charge of perjury which he committed whilst in the employ of CMD. Finally, he has unswerving support for a minister who was trying to force through the BSKYB bid and only reigned it in when the phone hacking scandal with Millie Dowler broke. Up to that point, not sure he had done anything to hinder Murdoch's ambitions. Of course, the problem is that Ed Milliband is the leader of the opposition and lacks credibility and stature. Politics, don't you just love it.

Sorry mate, can't see anything in my post that says the Tories are for the working man. They are all in it for power and themselves...Agree CDM has been a let down, although hampered by the Lib Dems in pushing through his policies he should put his point forward and say to Clegg ,(who got in through hanging on the Tories coat tails)..."If you don't like my policies get out and call an election....I cannot see Clegg taking the chance of losing his only chance of power.
Meanwhile back at the Ranch.......UKIP for me!
As regards corruption and shady dealings...Labour has done it's fair share of that

The man you are talking about is Nigel Farage. The only thing that stops me voting UKIP is the fear of letting in Labour by default.
Agree....Nigel talks a lot of sense...but then the do-gooders come out of the woodwork and shout "Racist!" Labour with it's open door policy has a lot to answer for. At least Nigel gives you the facts of what it cost to be in the EU and all this "It's a massive export market" does'nt wash...we import more from the EU than we export to them....

I've decided that the whole lot of them are twats. We are about to plunge into a disaster of epic proportions as the euro zone collapses and god knows what will follow. The outcome for all of us will be grim. What we do now is critical as very soon we will be in a very dangerous place. It might sound alarmist but there are no parties or politicians in our current setup who will be capable of dealing with the chaos that is surely coming.

Stock up on food and water. Prepare yourselves.

Actually, I'm not that far from your thoughts. I truely am concerned as to where this current crisis is going to end up. The US is stalling (and it's accepted fact that the fiscal contraction due to cut in later this year will have a very negative effect on their economy). The Euro is screwed; seriously, it's totally buggered. If anyone seriously believes that it the fall-out from the Eurozone crisis is not affecting us now and will not seriously impact us when it disintegrates, then they are deluded. For example, Greece is only 2.65% of the GDP of the Eurozone. Spain is 11.72%. Source wiki. The Euro is a political project, and most citizens within the Euro have not boted for that is being done. We've only had 1 referendum in this country on Europe; yet think of all of the treaties which have been signed which have gradually transferred powers from our parliament to Brussels.

There's been 100bln Euri capital flight from Spain in the first part if this year, but 66bln of this was last month. This is being referred to as a 'bank jog'.

Growth is stalling all around the world, and all of the efforts so far have been to bail out banks. They should have been allowed to go bust and reformed.

Before the lefties start on about the failure of capitalism; what has been done here is not capitalism. True capitalism would not have sanctioned state intervention to protect banks. That is socialism.

The Western way of life is screwed (living on debt and spending tomorrows income). Too many want lots of services paid for by someone elses taxes.

You're right. I've been accused of being racist because I voted ukip in the European elections. It's just ignorant people that say that about ukip but it's a shame that that myth exists.

I'm very pleased to see the gradual swell of support though. To knock the pointless lib dems out of third place is a great start.

You voted for Marta Andreasen, then? The woman who, last year, called for UKIP leader Nigel Farage to resign. Farage has responded that she is "out of touch" and "didn't know what she was talking about".

Both of them were elected to represent the South East in the European Parliament. Which one of them do you now support?

UKIP seem to me to be a shambolic party, constantly at war with each other. The idea that they could put together a coherent package of policies seems to me to be preposterous.

UKIP always has an upsurge of support mid-term and then loses it all at ge time. It also has a problem with racism (at least in perception). A few years ago the last leader of uki(some lord who had defected from the tories) was asked "Whats the dfference betwen UKIP and the BNP?" His answer? We let black people join, the bnp dont.

Nigel Farage is NOT racist, yet again too easy to play that card. As you say he talks straight and with passion and appears sincere. Sadly no chance of getting in.

Sports sports sports!
Sadly at the moment I have no clue as to who I really throw my support behind as no party really set the world alight. Labour have an awful record with the economy and the conservatives (who have traditionally been solid with the economy) don't seem to have any clue either.

All I know is the future certainly isn't green!

Absolutely pathetic when people associate UKIP with some sort of racist party. All UKIP want is a reduction and if possible halt in immigration and a vote on whether we should be part of the EU or not. I think most people would agree that we need to be tougher on who we allow in to this country and I think most people agree the that more people we allow in, the more pressure this places on our services such as Health service, Schooling and Housing. I have been witness to good immigration and I have been witness to bad immigration, where the only reason they are here is to get hold of a UK passport. Arriving underfunded and without any qualifications is just leaving them in the same position as when they left home, but putting more pressure on our services. And if these people cannot find work, then they need to claim some kind of financial support.

What is his policy on the things that matter? like the UK economy? the NHS? education (schools, student loans, etc...)? levels of personal and business taxation? the armed forces? benefits and pensions?
