I've lived in most parts of the country (not the north west, but I'm happy enough with that) and barring a bit of variation in the type of beer you can easily find in pubs I wouldn't say there's a huge amount of difference.

I agree having lived in Liverpool for 14 years, perhaps the most different English city to the rest. People are people and we share many more similarities than differences.

In all seriousness, there’s no such thing as a north south divide. There IS a have and have not divide, but they’d rather we didn’t focus on that so they create labels that can divide rather than unite people.

Technically anything outside the city bounds is "up north". Including the Isle of Wight.

I remember singing "you dirty northern bastards" at Plymouth Argyle some years ago. Pretty sure we sung it at Marseille too, although I was a bit pissed so may have made that up.

Just to be clear, I was just pointing out the lack of teams from the north in the PL and meant the thread as a bit of football fun and in no way a cultural/political dig or thread. I’m as far opposed to Gove, Johnson and all of the other charlatans in government as it’s possible to be and agree fully with your point.

It has irritated me a bit over the years the lack of respect clubs from outside of the north, midlands and London do get though and the way MASSIVE clubs from those areas are spoken about in comparison and I’m enjoying the success of the more ‘provincial’ clubs like ourselves.

Personally I’d love to see a season with Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth and Brighton in the top flight. And Plymouth too. Now that would be fun.
