Some of the appallling co-commentators will be gutted!
I agree having lived in Liverpool for 14 years, perhaps the most different English city to the rest. People are people and we share many more similarities than differences.I've lived in most parts of the country (not the north west, but I'm happy enough with that) and barring a bit of variation in the type of beer you can easily find in pubs I wouldn't say there's a huge amount of difference.
Yeah, the northern monkeys have cheaper housing, lower cost of living, but roughly same wages. That's why, when us entitled, rich southerners go on holiday, we're outnumbered 3-1 by the arrogant great unwashed....go on a cruise, you'll understand why I'm bitterMaybe Boris Johnson and Michael Gove can join the FA and work on a leveling up plan.
In all seriousness, there’s no such thing as a north south divide. There IS a have and have not divide, but they’d rather we didn’t focus on that so they create labels that can divide rather than unite people.
Yeah, they're Dutch, whereas we're FrenchI would include East Anglia as the South, they are culturally the same.
You know Warminster isn't in East Anglia, right?I Live in Norfolk, Nice and flat, some nice canals and rivers and sandy beaches.
Long way from the Amex though
It's funny how overtly English a geordie accent sounds when you fly straight from Belfast to Newcastle.I agree having lived in Liverpool for 14 years, perhaps the most different English city to the rest. People are people and we share many more similarities than differences.
So by your reckoning, Harpenden is in the North of England? For the record, I class the north as from that bit outside the M25 looking up
(checks google maps)So by your reckoning, Harpenden is in the North of England?
Haywards Heath is the beginning of the north!Yeah, the northern monkeys have cheaper housing, lower cost of living, but roughly same wages. That might be stretching the literal definition of 'north'Haywards Heath is the beginning of the north!
As someone born from Littlehampton, living in March, Cambridgeshire, I would respectively say that the locals here would say your talking s**t.I would include East Anglia as the South, they are culturally the same.
Good spot I should have updated about 2 years ago.........Happy Now??Yeah, the northern monkeys have cheaper housing, lower cost of living, but roughly same wages. I’m definitely happy, I had to look up Warminster earlier to see if there was another one in NorfolkGood spot I should have updated about 2 years ago.........Happy Now??
I admire your diligence.I’m definitely happy, I had to look up Warminster earlier to see if there was another one in Norfolk
I don’t really know much about Norfolk and also Suffolk, I’ve only been there for Albion games.I admire your diligence.
Just to be clear, I was just pointing out the lack of teams from the north in the PL and meant the thread as a bit of football fun and in no way a cultural/political dig or thread. I’m as far opposed to Gove, Johnson and all of the other charlatans in government as it’s possible to be and agree fully with your point.Maybe Boris Johnson and Michael Gove can join the FA and work on a leveling up plan.

I've lived near Horam for 5 years, didn't realise that I had become a Northerner!Findon Village is north as far as I’m concerned…..
West Chiltington, Storrington? Might as well be Scottish

It has irritated me a bit over the years the lack of respect clubs from outside of the north, midlands and London do get though and the way MASSIVE clubs from those areas are spoken about in comparison and I’m enjoying the success of the more ‘provincial’ clubs like ourselves.
No - Winchester.Haywards Heath is the beginning of the north!
