I don't think Noone has been pants but his performances have dipped over last few weeks.

Surely this is the point of having a squad ? Put Buckley in and give him a chance and in turn give Noone a couple of games off to reflect on where his performance needs improving slightly.

well, you've taken that out of context haven't you.

Noone was brilliant in August, September, and some of October. recently, he's done almost nothing of any note other than give the ball away, and has looked totally lost at times he's played on the right. I'm not slating him, I'm voicing my opinion that he needs either a rest, or a rocket up the arse

Unbelievable! No winger is going to through the whole season on top form. The opposition have sussed out how good he is and now look how often they have 2 men on him, or haven't you noticed?

Give the guy a break, I know where I'd stick that rocket....

I have notice. He's not being effective at the moment, so i dont think he should be in the side. as you say, the oppo have sussed him out and he needs to consider ways of getting past that. i didn't say he was worse than david lee did i!! good grief

His form has dropped off recently, mind you our attacking play in general isn't great at the moment anyway, and as previously mentioned he hasn't been helped by being double or triple marked as a result of being our only winger on the pitch, Nooney at his best and with support is borderline unstoppable at times

The reason for any drop in form (if that's what it is) is due to having no other options on the pitch ... give it to Noone and hope ... he's being treated as a one man outlet, not even the likes of Giggs could carry that sort of responsibility week in week out.. Sooner we can put out a decent MF the better

Don't entirely agree, you are 100% right that we expect too much and look for him to be our only creative player but in turn when he does have a pass available he doesn't see it or chooses to go alone. My only complaint of Noone is he doesn't look up enough to see what's happening.

I agree with you more than I agree with me :) .. but you are correct and I wonder if it's that he's trying just too hard .. he's carrying the burden of so much expectation as well as running his socks off. Dunno but the sooner we can mix it up on a reg basis with KLL, Buckley and a bossing fella in front of Bridcutt then I got a feeling Nooney will be back to his very best.

KLL, is a one trick pony when it comes to playing wide on the wing.
He looks at the defender and they have an unspoken conversation:-

'I'm going to kick this past you, and we are going to race to the byline'.

KLL wins, hammers in a low ball across the 6 yard area.

With everything else Noone does, that's the one thing he doesn't, and it's very obviously missing whenever KLL has been coming on.
To have a 'proper' midfielder in front of Bridcutt, Noone and KLL either wing, and Buckley with CMS, there would be space for everyone, and very little double/triple marking.

I think this shows ewe have been too reliant on 1 player although with players returning from injury hopefully the opposition won't be able to afford to put 2 people on him due to threats from elsewhere. This is when I think we'll really turn it on :)

Nooney is still doing well but he has definitely come off the boil since his absolutely blistering start this season, I put that down to teams marking him out of the game, and also him being the only creative spark in the team at times which makes it much easier for teams to mark him out.

If I were an apposition manager, I'd see Noone as the obvious player to shut down.
We need to compliment his skills by giving opposing sides more to deal with than just him and CMS.

Starting Buckley and Lua Lua seems the most obvious method for this - we don't seem to begin matches with the strongest line-up, and our 'super-subs' aren't exactly winning games coming on later.
