There will be examples, but why have them on the bench if they are our performance players?

Well hopefully Buckley is now over his injuries and will get a run of games.

I'm not saying its right but on occasions I think we have had potential game changers on the bench as it is a plan B. If we start them and it doesnt work we havent really got anywhere to go and more chance of limping to defeat. As said, with players back we should have more options. Badly need more striking options though ..... which we've all discussed to death

I can understand what you are saying, but our squad is deep enough now to have options. Strikers will strike.... only if they get the ball up front, and that appears to be the issue - not that they are getting loads of the ball in great areas but failing to bury it, but that they are not getting the ball in key areas at all and not getting shots in at all. Thus, I can only conclude that the issue is with a lack of strength behind the front runners and an inability to bring the ball out of midfield.
Bridcutt can roam only if the other midfielders staunchly hold their positions and afford him that luxury.
Lua Lua and Noone are surely hard to better in their positions, but aren't complimented if we cannot draw attention elsewhere - the oppositions make it hard for them because they run out of options to pass to.

It's not as if Gus hasn't been active in the transfers because he has..... but within a certain budget. Barnes gets flak on here, yet he scored almost as many as Murray without it being an issue (GM did make it an issue and big deal, when he was only doing what was expected of him after all). CMS replaced Murray and he's not a poor second - he works harder to get in the best places, rather than waiting for the ball to come to him. I really don't think Murray would have prospered this season in our side.

KLL, is a one trick pony when it comes to playing wide on the wing.
He looks at the defender and they have an unspoken conversation:-

'I'm going to kick this past you, and we are going to race to the byline'.

KLL wins, hammers in a low ball across the 6 yard area.

With everything else Noone does, that's the one thing he doesn't, and it's very obviously missing whenever KLL has been coming on.
To have a 'proper' midfielder in front of Bridcutt, Noone and KLL either wing, and Buckley with CMS, there would be space for everyone, and very little double/triple marking.

What's wrong with that? Most of the time it works. He can also cut in on his right and shoot.
err, does that help.

The reason for any drop in form (if that's what it is) is due to having no other options on the pitch ... give it to Noone and hope ... he's being treated as a one man outlet, not even the likes of Giggs could carry that sort of responsibility week in week out.. Sooner we can put out a decent MF the better
True. We're having a harder time creatively than we were. Due to teams working out where it was coming from in a small squad, plenty of injuries and playing in a higher division for christ's sake. None of this makes a hard working, creative player 'pants', or needing a rocket up his arse. Let's get some perspective chaps :bigwave: :albion2:

Erm .. pants? Assume that's aimed at me as you've used my quote. For the record I think Noone is a great player and was trying to rationalise why he may not be as productive as he could be ... it certainly isn't anything to do with him imo ... my point was we are simply overburdening him given a lack of other options. Maybe I should read the whole thread again but is anyone really calling him pants? If so then they are way off the mark

No, was agreeing with your quote. But earlier he was called 'pants at the moment' and needing either a spell out of the side or a rocket up his arse, by one knowledgeable chap ??? :smokin:

Got it .. ta! Can only assume he made the comments in a relative context. If Noone is pants then feck knows what the rest are .... we're all doomed!!!!!!!
