After being very smug and beating the traffic this morning I've just realised the A27 will be TOTAL GRIDLOCK by the time I get to the Shoreham flyover on the way home.


Probably end up inching through Worthing.

Still, at least Aspinall and Cantor will be on the radio if it takes too long

The disabled have been compeltely and totally forgotten in this argument and that's an absolute disgrace.

I thought the provision was made that they can phone up and book help.

Most wheelchair users I'd imagine have those buses supplied by the council / hospital for a lot of things and other disabled can still get on a train.

Not agreeing but the disabled groups seem happy with this.

i think "happy" would be the wrong word. there are number of other stations on lines already using DOO where this issue isnt being publically raised. rather like the DOO on thamelink and Southern Metro, why on earth wasnt disabled access a high profile concern then?

Next time you fancy doing something on the spur of the moment, just like a day out for example because the sun happens to be shining...DON'T! Make sure you book at least 24 hours in advance instead.

I mean, why should you be able to enjoy the benefits of services the rest of the population has instant unplanned access to.

Well done to the unions/workers for standing up for their rights and not backing down . Unions have been gradullay eroded in recent years and it's refreshing to see such a unionised work force. Striking is never taken lightly , there is a ballot at my place of work at the moment and the stress and division it causes , shows it really is a last resort .

really? why then in all the rail related ballots have they had more members in favour of non-strike action, yet always take the strike option forward? its used as weapon for it maximum impact, not as a last resort.

assuming you are missing a comma and not agreeing with me, go and look at the ballot results.

and to be fair its not, and quite effective too. just they also announced strikes (today, tomorrow, Friday to start) and the RMT went straight to strikes too. and in both cases they never sought to explain, publicise or gain support for their case, prefering the old methods to those in the modern world of PR.

Yes and sod all the people who are losing wages, losing jobs, worried how their children are getting home from school, unable to see family this Christmas, as long as the minority are happy

Those disabled ramps on the platform aren't ever locked up. I guarantee other train users would help in ghe absence of the highly trained elite squad of southern rail train guards.
