I have as mmuch passion for BHA as any man about but age says I dont have the same energy or vigour but I havent always been nearly 70 years old. I live , eat and sleep BHA as all my family and friends know. Fortunately I have a very understanding wife and she has known this for all of our 46 years of married life but I still do not wish to stand to watch us beat inferior opposition like Palace.
With you BG don't mind people standing up...but not in front of me...I can't stand up for more than a couple of minutes so my view is blocked off...I paid to watch the game as well...just for once you 'standers' have a little consideration for people behind you.....

So the hundreds infront of you shouldn't stand because some old fart bought a ticket right at the back

When I bought this years ST the club made a point of saying that standing would not be permitted ,except in certain areas that they would turn a blind eye to, West Lower wasnt one of those areas. I accept that it is a difficult situation for the club but I am confident that they will win eventually and that a few fans will be upset in the process.

If you wish to have a seat in a part of the ground that creates atmosphere then join in , if you do not wish to participate then f*** off to the east stand,go on f*** off and shut the f*** up.
Says the young guy who thinks it's great to come on a forum and fill his message with profanities...jeez you really are clever...or a self centred idiot...we all love an atmosphere but just for once think of others...if you are lucky...you might get to old age and find you cannot stand...youi've shown your ignorance...now let's see if you can show commonsense...you enjoy the match how you want...but not at the cost of slagging off fellow fans.

So all older fans are old farts are they...does that make all you young ones that have suddenly found Brighton have a football team JCLs...as I said in my earlier post....if you're lucky you might be an old fart one day...if they put a board in front of you so you could'nt see you'd be the first to complain...it's no good asking you to think of others behind you...it's all me'me'me....I'm alright Jack attitude!!

Hammer and nail.
That "old fart" you refer to has bought a seat. like everyone else to sit in.
The club has compromised over the the standing in turning a blind eye to the last 4 rows of the north stand.

That was my point when I bought my ST in the West Lower but I am told by other people sitting in that area that the club are monitoring the situation on the CCTV at each game.

Seconded.

Where were these people when the on-pitch demos were going on in the nineties? Where were they when we went up to Mellor to demonstrate outside the Chairman's house? Where were they when we marched through London in protest? Oh, of course, they were probably in nappies or maybe hadn't even been born!!

Well some of those people who did that all those years ago, so that ALL Albion fans would still have a team to support, are not fit enough to stand throughout a game any more. They have purchased seats in stands other than the North Stand for this reason. Some will have stood in the old North stand and made up the songs that we still sing today. But we all get old!

Personally, I sit in the West Stand upper. I chose this seat because I knew there would be a great atmosphere up there and because I wanted to sit, not stand.

I moved to Sussex when I was seven so Sussex-by-the Sea has no real meaning to my family but I still sang it with all of my heart at the Tottenham match and at the end I had a tear in my eye. I always sing it but probably not for the same reason as some of our younger members.

So all I ask is that idiots like Samej shut up themselves and stop slagging people off because they don't agree with your opinions. (oh no I've set myself up there!!!).

For what it's worth, I would love safe standing areas to return to top English grounds and I would probably use them myself. However, before they do, I have chosen to SIT in the West Upper so that the younger supporters can enjoy standing behind the goals (still the best view in any ground imho) without old farts like me telling them to sit down all the time!

Finally, why all the f...ing swearing? It's not necessary when trying to get your point across but is highly likely to bring NSC to the attention of Big Brother and then you won't have a soapbox to stand on!

Goodnight!

Well said Spearritt of the Albion. Incidentally I wonder if any of the people you are directing this at would even know who Eddie Spearritt was, without looking on the internet.
