I'm comparing us to the likes of Wolves, Blackburn, Bolton, Middlesborough, Nottm Forest, Cardiff, etc. if we can compete with them, how come we're not?

I thought we were competing with them, according to most on here???...I'm confused what your point is....If you asking why we taken less points than those teams in the last six games, that easy to answer. We been sust out and Poyet can't/won't change his system. Pick Dicker drop dicker. pick Hammond drop Hammond, Pick Buckley drop Buckley...he has lost the plot.

We were out of the relegation zone with five games to go, after we beat Reading at the Mad Stad, but we only one once more that season.

So only winning once in five is not good enough, despite what you achieved before...Ok, now we have established that, what's you views on Poyet again???

Do you honestly think the side we had that season was significantly worse than the one we have this season?

Beasant, Watson, Cullip, Blackwell, Mayo, Brooker, Jones, Rodger, Ingimarsson, Zamora, Kitson.

There were a few clunkers in the team, but Kerry had his best season for the club ever, and there was plenty of experience elsewhere in the team...............and of course we had Bobby, even when he was sulking for half the season he was still majestic.

But this is my point Pres.....Coppell built that team at Withdean with both hands and legs tied behind his back and it's a better team that we have now.

Poyets refusal to admit McSmudger and Barnes are not strikers that can play the game that he has set the team up to play is the reason we are dropping down the table again this season. His reputation has secured top players in goal and defence, they will keep us in division 2, but only goals scored by forwards will get us the promotion that he talks about

That team had BZ, how much would a player of that calibre at that age cost us now, if Rhodes is worth £8 million......

Pork pie land.
The one thing you CANNOT do is guarantee the next manager will get us up.

Clearly not, but Tony Bloom can select one to provide entertaining football whilst we are waiting to get to the Promised Land of the Premiership. The shite Poyet's team dish up makes me lose the will to live, and certainly does not make me feel compelled to put myself out to get to matches any longer.

And Kitson hardly played and was signed by Tinselwood, we can argue the toss all night. I'd have Coppell (of back then) over Poyet everyday of the week and twice on a Sunday.

I totally agree. Poyet does not know what he is doing. Since his winning League 1 with a big budget and loads of luck, he has failed miserably to produce a team with any consistancy. For those who wish to exhault him for the League 1 title - how did we perform at the end of the season against the league's better teams?

He had the opportunity to come back and decided against it.

33 days at Maine Road, two games in charge at Bristol City, and four spells in charge of Caravan Palace, are you sure he's great? He is only 57, plenty of years left in him.

I never said he was great, I said he was better than Poyet at the time and what's more, I wouldn't go back to a club who passed me over for fifty pieces of silver either. He may have had the chance to come back but he never wanted to leave in the first place.

Some people are real jokers, the football we are playing at the moment is way above anything Coppell produced for us or anybody else. Gus will get over the blip and we will climb up the table again very soon and all of the doubters will be patting him on the back..

He would not need to be "great" to be better than Poyet though would he? How about the spell at Reading? His teams also play entertaining football.

Yeah,,2 goals in six games...Thrilling, way above anything anyone else ever produced. I just love watching that ball get tapped ten yards back and fourth, allowing the other team to get organised and snuff us out.
