Another Vote for Atom Heart Mother. Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast is the most weird and wonderful thing they ever did - "Marmalade, I like Marmalade"...

I really really like Three Imaginary Boys and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me although the popular choices seem to be Disintegration and Head On The Door.

I'd also vote for Piper At The Gates of Dawn.

I much prefer Amy Winehouse's Frank to Back in Black.

And by far my favourite Dylan Album is what was originally issued in the 1960s as Bringing it all Back Home. I think it's been reissued since with a different title, but it had the originals of Mr Tambourine Man, it's all over now, baby blue, Subterranean Homesick Blues and - one of my all time favourites - Lovd minus zero, no limit.

Agree with Stato’s inclusion of EC’s All This Useless Beauty but would add Brutal Youth, Get Happy and Imperial Bedroom. With most artists it’s all personal opinion anyway - who should judge what is ‘regarded as their best’ - impossible task.
I seem to be in the minority in really loving the early Beatles albums eg With The Beatles - probably influenced by the fact that on our original Dansette record player it was played over and over again!

Regarded by whom?

Paul’s Boutique is easily my favourite Beastie Boys album. Many of their fans would agree but the world at large loved Licence to Ill. Ditto with the Mondays and Bummed versus Pills n Thrills

Really? I would have thought the 3 weakest albums are Virtual X1, The X Factor and No Prayer for the Dying. Of those I really think X Factor is really not that bad. It was just such a huge adjustment from Bruce to Blaze and massive shoes to fill.

I thought Book of Souls was generally well regarded. Personally I would say they need to watch song lengths. Albums need light and shade and one or two epics are fine but not every track needs to be 6 mins plus

Good last point. I thought hard wired by Metallica suffered from a bit of this. Could have chopped a number of tracks as well.

Pink Floyd Final Cut album. More of a Solo by Waters. Can i say Amused to death also ? Not a floyd album though but still enjoyable.

Staying on topic is a bit of a challenge for you, isn't it.

Yup. This season's been WAY too much stop and start. League football just seems more and more like something they just about manage to fit in alongside all the other crap. It's become more than a bit peurile IMHO. Balloon's anyone?

Balloon's what? ???

In fairness most of them were classics, Nashville Skyline is another of my many Dylan favourites

now then, ..., ..... Blonde on Blonde and Blood on the Tracks are my favourites "most of the time"

but sometimes my favourite is "Oh Mercy"
