Previous ramblings from Lord BracknellLammy said:What about the university car parks? Racket club?
Lord Bracknell said:Three points:-
1. When the Falmer Stadium is built, Sussex University car park spaces will be used by the Albion (at a significant charge to drivers with a requirement that the vehicles carry passengers as well as the driver). The Club will pay for improved access to the University site as part of the agreement with Sussex University and the City Council.
2. As far as extra seats at Falmer are concerned, the requirement is for additional park and ride facilities to serve traffic arriving from the north (via the A23) and the west (via the A27). There is already unused capacity at Mithras House for cars coming from the east (via the A27/A270). Making yet more capacity available from this direction (which is all that will be achieved if Sussex or Brighton (Falmer) University car parks are used) won't contribute to a solution.
3. The big extra park and ride facility that is planned for when Falmer opens is at Brighton Racecourse - to serve traffic coming along the A259 from the east. Despite what Rottingdean Parish Council and a few Woodingdean NIMBYs have been saying, access to the Racecourse P&R site will be via Wilson Avenue.
