Ah, I get it now. It's not just that he's black, he's an UPPITY black.

Who is that? Should I have heard of him?

I shall ignore that comment.

He is like a young Tony Blair up and coming. Starmer has never fitted either of these roles, has he, too much of the vino I expect?

Anyway nice chatting with you. I have more important things to do.

What gives you the impression that the Beeb and GMB are embarrassingly left?

I hear lots of people saying that the BBC in particular is "left wing", but I never see any actual reasoning to their assertion beyond one of the following three things;

1. They employ Gary Lineker (sometimes paired with "they fired Jeremy Clarkson")
2. They sometimes covered news which wasn't all about rape gangs in Rotherham or people in boats landing on Dungeness
3. Sometimes they have a Tory on a news show and ask them some difficult questions

This is an issue, wokes only appear to see skin colour, I see a man who is not a nice human being, in and out of his sport. Who is an activist and wants to use his platform to cause a divide.

Not many take the knee now at F1, they know there is no impact but divide in doing so, why carry it on??? They need to rebrand the way they deal with racism, but twots like Lewis would prefer to be...look at me. I have so much wonga, I might just sue a watch company called Hamilton, his lack of respect for them was the same he showed to Maxs in copse corner, nearly renamed corpse corner. Every teammate he has ever had has wanted to deck him.
But why I hear you ask................it's because he is up his own arse.

Anyway back on topic, are you enjoying a bit of Nige and co???

Tom Harwood seems a lovely lad with his head screwed on, don't ya think???

It’s because he is so much better than they were/are.interestingly Alonso has come out in his defence and there is no love lost between the time of them.
You are just a very sad individual who thinks waving the union flag and watching a bunch of bigots makes him a patriot. FWIW, I have the union flag tattooed on my arm ….

Why can’t you see that our Prime Minister is not a nice man, which has nothing to do with his skin colour?

And as for enjoying a bit of Nige and Co, people like me, who are confident that their views on everything are going to be exactly the polar opposite of what he says, are going to avoid him like the plague

What happened to your pleas ages ago for the country to unite behind the newly elected Johnson? Now you are delighting in stirring things up, which to me makes you a very sad person.

There is so much behind it, just a quick example would be, the way they describe tory stories and sensationalise a non-event. Like the "screeching U-turn by the government." This could be put in a different way, like "the government have reviewed the situation and changed their stance."

We could go on for ages in just the way they like to use their wording, we know other channels have their bias but the BBC should be neutral.

This is why I watch GBnews because it is refreshingly different to the guardian channels.

My plea is still out there to reunite behind Boris and our country, it's just you have your Linekers and Hamiltons of this world thinking they run the country, but of course, they take no responsibility and use their fame to do it.

They need to stand up in parliament if they have the balls, I hear Starmer's position is looking vulnerable, they won't, they are all mouth no action.

As the old saying goes "put up or  doesn't it Dave? Hamilton next PM? Surely he is the only person to get the Labour party out of the hole it dug?

Meanwhile, Boris will battle on through on a below minimum wage compared to Lewis.

Go on switch GB on they have some good diverse presenters, if everyone is to believe the left hype, people like myself would be criticising them or not watching them.

There is one string in the bow of a handful on here and that is where they have become very sad individuals IMO.

Not you may I add Dave, when are we going to have that pint of bitter?

Anyway I am off for a few days away, I have my hanky and my bucket and spade, I will have to be careful our Bulldog doesn't get too hot in the Bentley, maybe a wet hanky for him too???

I decided to look up the headline you refer to and the wording is as follows;

"Covid-19: PM and chancellor self-isolate after rapid U-turn"

It is a U-turn, it was rapid and they are self-isolating. How much forelock-tugging would you deem acceptable?

To give you credit, you don’t give up and are consistent. But we’re a million miles apart.

As for Lineker, Hamilton and numerous other people from the world of sport and elsewhere who criticise the Government, that is something that happens with every Government and usually they deal with it. Any historian, particularly of Europe in the 20th Century, will tell you that among the marks of a fascist regime are silencing the critical press (defund the BBC?), rubbishing experts (Michael Gove before the referendum and all of them since) and trying to shut up all opposition.

That is all why millions of people will absolutely never, never get behind the current Prime Minister and his Government, not unless he does the right thing and does something credible for a change.

How about:

The government has carried out a meticulous review of the situation during the last 157 minutes and changed their stance. This of course has nothing to do with the optics but, as ever, they are following the science and doing their utmost to protect us all, for which we must again thank them from the bottom of our hearts. Praise Boris.

Fair and balanced?

And yet many would tell you that the BBC are Tory stooges . See Andrew Neil (up until recently obviously), Laura Kuenssberg, ex-Tory aides allegedly interfering in appointments, the BBC Chair being a Tory donor, editing Corbyn to look like the quintessential Russian Communist, the BBC editing footage of Johnson when laying a wreath on Remembrance Sunday, the BBC editing footage of people laughing at Johnson during the debates with Corbyn, threats to axe 'left-wing' satirical comedy, the list can go on.

The fact both left and right swear the BBC is biased probably indicates that, in actuality, the BBC is somewhere in the middle.

But what about all the clarion calls for workers to seize the means of production that are rammed down out throats by Dan Walker every morning on BBC Breakfast? Alex Jones' doe-eyed soliloquies on dialectical materialism on the One Show? Andrew Marr's incessant puff pieces on the virtues of anarcho-syndicalism? The hagiographic tributes to Mao on Saturday Kitchen?

Embarrassingly left.

The same Dan Walker who was called 'Tory Boy' by some on the left and 'Champagne Socialist' by some on the right? ??? I'd argue the issue here is how individuals perceive and infer rather than any stone cold factual evidence it is indeed a left or right organisation. Thus the 'somewhere in the middle' conclusion I made previously.

You are, as ever, speaking tosh.
The BBC is not left-wing. Its remit is to be impartial, independent, etc. It doesn't achieve this, because the dominant narrative and agenda in this country is set by the press. The press are owned by a small gaggle of tax exiles with pretty much identical ideological views -- they're neoliberals, they're right-wing. The BBC operates within this ecosystem and, consequently, also articulates a right-wing form of politics, even though it doesn't necessarily want to.

And as to your disapproval of the use of U-turns. You've conveniently forgotten that one of the jobs of any media organisation is to hold the government to account -- one that they take up with varying degrees of competence and intensity, largely down to which flavour of government holds power. It just so happens that the Tories have been in power for 11+ years now, and this particular iteration under Johnson for over two years. When the government performed a U-turn, the BBC states that the government performed a U-turn. It does so for Johnson, as it did for May, as it did for Cameron, as it did for Brown, as it did for Blair, as it did for Major, and so on.

Our Nigel knocked it out the park with his first show, very good viewing.
Glad to see the most influential politician for a generation given his own prime time slot.

You say that, but what about the Antiques Roadshow Nazi memorabilia two-parter which could have been shown on the BBC, the Nationalistic Populism of England winning the Euro World Cup of Foopball live and exclusive on the BBC, or the 'so-called gameshow' Winner Takes All which aired on THE CHANNEL NEXT TO BBC2!!

Also, notice you can't spell FASIST or BBC without the letter C. See?
