To launch the project, they could parachute Boris in on a short-term contract to advise on a three word slogan around stopping the pylons. It's certainly going to be a challenge for Labour if they're coming over on pylons now.

these are the usual arguments used against the licence: why should people pay it when they dont watch BBC, and it's a tax on having a TV. and it is a tax, being compulsory for TV ownership and enforced by state pubishable by imprisonment.
indeed, if it did rebrand the licence to a subscription and removed the legal enforcement, near all objection would evaporate. though since so much value comes from the wide range of services and non-commercial programming, general tax would seem suitable. or maybe a combination.
Like this you meanTo launch the project, they could parachute Boris in on a short-term contract to advise on a three word slogan around stopping the pylons.
Cack Town ?, how very patronising.Well I don’t even own a TV - hate the bloody things personally but I’ll stick with the subscription model because it’s already there more or less anyway but at any rate it needs to remain a PBS
As for Farage, his obsessive desire to gain power on the back of popular ideas ( yep, just pick something the electorate wants to hear and run with it) is not only fantasy economics that would cost tens of billions a year on the public purse - it is in truth only a means to an end to get him elected - it is not what Farage is really about - he espouses a commitment to the conservative liberalism of Thatcherite Britain that saw communities destroyed and the NHS and other public services cripple under low taxation and spending cuts. Farage is all about shrinking even further the role of the State, tearing up regulations that protect everything from our environment to the food we eat and rewarding his city chums with even more tax cuts.
Dont be fooled by the tarring of Farage with the same brush as Le Pen and other far right European leaders - Farage does not espouse the big spend economics of Le Pen. Farage is a 60s boomer malcontent who is rallying against the social reforms of post Thatcherism and has far more in common with Trump than he does with the far right nationlism that’s gaining ground in Europe..
How can the people of Cack Town not understand that Reform UK‘s economic proposals would punish the very people that make up his political constituency?
Cack Town ?, how very patronising.
So it wasn't word play on Clacton then ?, seriously ?Seriously?
Who is it patronising towards? It is a fictitious constituency?
This has caused a few ripples with quite a few Reform supporters questioning having a Muslim onboard.
So it wasn't word play on Clacton then ?, seriously ?
NoGo away you boring person. Of course it was a reference to places like Clacton that are socially deprived, have disproportionately high unemployment and high crime levels. It is exactly the sort of people in our socially deprived regions that Farage targets - preferably in areas with a predominantly white population so he doesn’t have to face a backlash from those he is discriminating against.
A bit like Trump going after the Black vote - it backfired eventually.Just Reform going after the pro Gaza vote
You Farage/Reform supporters thrive on looking for things to be offended by and wallowing in your sense of victimhood.Cack Town ?, how very patronising.

Every party has a racist following though of some typeJust when I thought I couldn't find Reform UK any more repugnant and racist.
They really are a pathetic bunch of bigots, losers, misfits, and social inadequates.
Racism and Islamophobia are the whole rationale of Reform UK; it's the overwhelming or sole reason why a certain demographic supports them, and idolises Farage.Every party has a racist following though of some type
Which suggests it's doing a grand job.Now - that is interesting. Oldies think it's left-wing, youngsters think it's right-wing.
Well firstly, I'm no Farage or Reform voter so you can wind your neck in about that!.You Farage/Reform supporters thrive on looking for things to be offended by and wallowing in your sense of victimhood.
Stop being such snowflakes, and develop some resilience (that's what you advise liberals and Wokies, isn't it?).
So I’m guessing that is about me - wow - because I referred to a fictitious place called Cack Town? You got all uppity and upset for absolutely no reason then launch into a tirade about how everyone on these ‘political threads’ are calling Tory voters ‘nazis’ and ‘racists’ - . No one is insulting you or having a tantrum on here (except maybe you a little bit )Well firstly, I'm no Farage or Reform voter so you can wind your neck in about that!.
What I don't like is people, especially on here who think their opinion is superior to everyone else, decry other views and then result to insults and tantrums when they get pulled up on it. Silly little wordplay games by adults are pathetic when discussing things of great importance and I'll call it out when I see it.
You'll see from my posts I don't resort to those insults (I don't think, and If I have then I was drunk I swear) but doesn't stop plenty of the usual suspects on these political threads from doing so. Yep, I get people have been incredibly annoyed/upset/affected by the Tories decisions/actions but that doesn't mean all Tory or other voters are far right, racist, Nazi's or even stupid just maybe have a different slant on things to you which you ought to be able to respect.

Maybe you would have been happier with ‘Chickentown’ (reference John Cooper Clarke but same thing) - I warn you though, you might find the language a little too offensive for your taste:
