But same is true of Labour, just 5 years ago those Championing Labour were doing so for a hardline old school socialist (crackpot), and today those same voters championing Labour are doing so for a centrist. The Jump from Corbyn to Starmer being far greater than from Sunak to Starmer, and now the momentum, Corbyn, George Galloway looney left are the rump who in the next few years, will likely divide Labour too as they did last time.

The difference I think is that the media (which drives a lot of this) aren't particular interested in the left wing splits. Nobody associates Galloway with Labour any more.

They have always been there, but in times of trouble the Conservatives are very good at coming together even after booting the leader out.

This time they have self imploded in power in a way we have never seen.

Labour aren't currently lurching to the left because of Owen Jones, they've stood up to it. The Tories on the other hand, blimey...

Theres truth in that statement. Reform is mirroring a section of the Tory right, the ERG, Rees Mogg, Braverman Thatcherites. They have little to do with the more liberal wets of which Sunak and his band of uselessness reside.

But same is true of Labour, just 5 years ago those Championing Labour were doing so for a hardline old school socialist (crackpot), and today those same voters championing Labour are doing so for a centrist. the Broad Church of both Tories and Labour is extremely fragile and volatile and any perceived harmony is often short lived as factions compete for their ideology.

In that respect Reform or even any new party of Corbyn if it ever came is likely to be more harmonius and have a clearer strategic vision, however warped that may be.

Sunak a liberal wet ? You do seem to like long and wordy explanation of "they're all the same" but, as I'm sure you're aware, I don't bother typing a response anymore

#Theyareallthesame

The plaintive cry of someone who has voted for a complete clusterf*** (often more than once ), now realises they have voted for a complete clusterf***, but in order to try not to appear stupid or take any responsibility for the clusterf*** , claims that they're all the same so their vote didn't contribute to this current clusterf*** in any way :lolol:

Wasn't Nige not standing as an MP, going to America and planning to make his fortune backing Trump in America up until 3 days ago ?

And a few months, well…

This was the question the Mirror hack tried to lay on him today, she was the only one reading her question from a phone (as no doubt dictated from HQ).

Well that went well....... 39 mins 5 secs.

If you like Farage or not he has an opinion. Sadly in this Country the right to have an opinion is being taken away from us. I won't say anymore.
I don’t think it counts if you just take it away from yourself, that’s just your choice

The cry of Brexiteers was “We need to get rid of all “these” foreigners coming here and taking our jobs” “These” foreigners being workers from the EU who worked hard, welcomed overtime and weekend working and were a genuinely nice bunch of lads (from my perspective in the construction industry where they were paid the going rate, not cheap labour)

Now it’s “We need to get rid of all these immigrants coming here and taking our benefits”

People moan that 16/17 year olds shouldn’t get the vote because they are not old enough to grasp the issues that will affect their future, but it’s a very sizeable percentage of the existing electorate that haven’t a clue about anything apart from what they read in the headlines of the Sun and Mirror, that are the real problem.
Indeed.

I'm not a cat.

But when you're talking to cats.....expect to be disappointed by the (lack of) replies.

Patronising and pathetic. What a combination.
You're lucky I decided to be patronising. It could have been worse.

Prepare for war! :lolol:

Thanks but I really don't need a lecture from a Liberal leftie. If you're happy with the way this country is going that's fine, but I'm not - and an awful lot of people would say the same if they weren't afraid of being called out for their views by people who bury their heads in the sand and claim that everything's fine.
.
I'm not.

That's why I'm voting labour.

Drain the swamp.

I’m wondering about the discussions we’re not privy to.

I wonder if our Nige has suggested he’d make a great leader of the Conservative Party, and unless he gets something agreed Reform will run against the Conservatives.

Today’s announcement makes sense if the Conservatives have suggested they don’t think Reform will get big numbers, and Nige has called their bluff.

That or he’s had a (metaphorical) rocket up his arse from the fella bankrolling him, who’s seen that things look grim and insisted he stand as an MP.

I can’t make sense of the timing otherwise.
