If that is your logic then Robinson should be ahead of both of them as he had a run last season of 8 in 8.

BTW, you say 'Bas' scoring record is far superior'. It isn't - only the bit you are choosing to highlight. His overall record is 8 in about 75 games.

I thought he did well Saturday, just looked starved of decent service.

I presume you are talking about Revell? If so, I thought he did very well. Plenty of long balls knocked up to him, won pretty much every one but no-one could pick up the flick on. Forster, however, seemed out of the game for long periods. I was expecting him to pick up the knock downs, but he seemed to be too far away or not on the same wavelength. Still, I wont judge him after one game, just hope he will get more into the game in future.

savag on the wing , he did more than jake in 10 mins, worth a go imo. I suspect he will play Fraser as he loves "the shape" but tranmere are better than crewe and we came undone there. Play savage and lets mix it up abit

To be fair to Jake, Northampton were playing 2 or 3 at the back by the time Savage came on. He did look very composed and played some lovely balls. I do hope we extend his contract when it expires (End of December).

I'm talking about last season, that's all. Neither of them played for us before last season, so it would be unfair to use those stats. Last season, Bas scored 6 in 15 appearances, Revell 7 in 38 appearances. I don't understand how there can even be debate over who is the better goalscorer?!

Revell was playing with a hernia for the last four months of the season.

So?

As I said, I'm quite happy to accept a lot of people like Revell, and I'm guessing you're another one of them. But, look at the stats. How can anyone argue that Revell is a better goalscorer than Bas? If he wasn't fit enough to score a goal he wouldn't have been on the pitch, so that's certainly not an excuse for scoring 7 in 38!

You really cannot debate and compare a player who is playing with an injury with a fit player. Of course he shouldn't have been playing but that is down to the manager.
Gary Hart was made to play at Ipswich on Wednesday night despite having his double hernia operation first thing on Thursday morning. I'm not particularly happy about the care being taken of our players at the moment, to be honest with you.

Forster is a quality player who has always scored goals and will do so for us. For anyone to even pose the question about dropping him after 3 games is a nonsense.

As for the rest of them there is not a lot to choose between them, they are all pretty poor. If that weren't the case we wouldn't have bought Forster.

Revell has the position at the moment and did enough on Saturday to deserve to keep it. To my surprise Bas had a good last 10 minutes. It might be worth starting with him on the right and putting Jakey on the bench in case it was just a flash in the pan.

Just to throw a bit of balance into the equation. Hammond was playing with a hernia since Christmas '06 and our form dipped when he finished the season, after the Huddersfield game.

Forster is droppable, but he doesn't warrant dropping yet.

The other issue is playing players who are injured in the first place. I didn't know that about Hart. Do you know what on earth the thinking is behind that then? I've just been reading about his injury on the website, and it says he will be out for 6 weeks. This might seem a silly question, but what the f*** are we doing playing players who have 6 week injuries that need to be sorted out?

Now you raise the point, that's a bloody interesting issue. Granted, the club probably know more about injuries than us...but here is the quote from Hart:

""You can play with it but not at first team level, because you struggle to get around. Sometimes you don't feel it, other days it really hurts. That is what hernias are like. It seems to be going through the club. I think five or six of us have had it now. Nobody knows how it comes about, i think it is just wear and tear."

Surely it would be less of a risk to not play him at all? And why the hell did Revell play with one last season if "you can't play with it at first team level"?!?!

Because it wasn't as bad as Hart's presumably.

It's not uncommon for players to continue playing with hernias.

He needs the ball on the ground, and I don't think anyone in the current midfield can give him that. As such, he will start to look like a far worse player than he really is.

To be fair, he had LOTS of service on Saturday and fluffed it. I'd have been gutted if I'd been him. He should have had a couple at least. Him and Baz could make a good partnership methinks.
