Happy birthday, that’s a great age.

His presenting style wasn’t my cup of tea, but I watched an interview with him (possibly when he got to 90), where he came across as a truly lovely bloke, who’s lived an interesting life.

(There was so much awful TV in the 70’s per se. Sale of the Century was one of countless cheapskate shows. Even as kids we recognised it all as crap at the time, looking forward to adulthood and being free to go boozing, clubbing, etc with mates).

Cheers.

Will be on my death list in 2019

I don't mind Nicholas Parsons - he is the punchline to a really old silly gag.

But Bernard Cribbens is brilliant. From Two Way Stretch to Dr Who - and all points in between.

Good for Bernard Cribbins :bowdown: - let us hope it is many years before the title of his greatest hit, and Junior Choice staple, becomes relevant :) Rummaged on WikiPedia and had forgotten his "Dr Who" involvement from the early days to the "rebooted" stories, and the Wombles as well!

I played his biggest hit on the Roar after Murray nearly had his knackers kicked into the middle of next week by the Brazilian Man U donkey - and in the middle of 'flaskgate'.

It doesn't seem much more than seven months since I posted this thread, eight months tops - but that's another issue.
In the intervening year, many thousands of men a whole generation younger will have died in Britain of heart attacks, strokes and cancers, without much perspective that their lives were cut short. Somehow it doesn't seem fair, although I don't begrudge Parsons a day of his life.
Seems he had a fortunate first quarter century, during which there was no NHS (his father was a GP). He also avoided war service, ironically due to ill health. Since then, I expect his upbringing would have had an influence, i.e. didn't smoke or spend most days in the pub.

I was wondering what NSCers think would be a reasonable age for them to attain, maybe admitting how much you binge drink/smoke/couch etc.?
