My mum described him as an "Obsequious, snivelling little toady". Don't think she liked him much.
I think your Mum had him spot on.

Us old codgers remember him as the straight man to Arthur Haynes.
I've no idea what that means.I thought Mr Jolly took him out?..
I don't mind Nicholas Parsons - he is the punchline to a really old silly gag.
But Bernard Cribbens is brilliant. From Two Way Stretch to Dr Who - and all points in between.

Good for Bernard Cribbins - let us hope it is many years before the title of his greatest hit, and Junior Choice staple, becomes relevant Rummaged on WikiPedia and had forgotten his "Dr Who" involvement from the early days to the "rebooted" stories, and the Wombles as well!
Sale of the Century is the only show I can remember as being bigged up as 'Live from Norwich'
Always though he was a good dresser

Rocky Horrer narrator?
Yes indeed, saw him at the Dome playing that role many years ago

He is/was brilliant on Just a Minute.
I hope I'm around and still as sharp as him at 95
