How the Eagles managed to squeak in is crazy. I was in Philly watching the Raiders, Buccs game indoors not expecting any favours. Then for the woeful Raiders to fly East and win a meaningless game (for them) against playoff chasing Tampa was a major, major shock. Coupled with the Bears losing, I ran down to the bar to watch the ass-woopin of the comedy Cowboys. Superb!!

I have to say after creeping in the back door after playing so badly sometimes this season I wouldn't be surprised to see us in the Super Bowl now as the 6th seed. Just like the Giants and Steelers previously.

Pretty nervous about the Vikings game but we should win through. Despite the Vikings poor pass defence Reid has to hand the ball to Westbrook and Buckhalter more often and keep a balanced offence.

Go Birds!!

no kidding. i was a bit surprised the dolphins did so poorly though, i do think they have been a bit overrated but i did think they would have enough to see off the ravens.

good old jeff reinebold. leeds fans everywhere.

How refreshing to watch a sport where the recent heavyweights (Colts and Patriots) are nowhere to be seen with the climax to the season still a few weeks away. Could you imagine a season anytime soon where ManUre and Chelski are out of the Premiership race by Easter.

Just a shame my Cowboys blew up in December again, as this years play-offs look wide open to me. Just a shame that there are so many dominant defences around as you can't beat a high scoring tear-up.

The Eagles will beat the Giants and the hype will be louder than pre season predictions for an Albion playoff place. Unfortunately and much like BHAFC, the Eagles will then fold to the Panthers in the NFC Championship game.

As I have said previously, Philly should be twinned with Brighton for ongoing and heart wrenching sporting disappointments.

Thank goodness for the Phillies.........

I think the Eagles will win that, but when can you EVER be sure with them. Every so often a game comes along whereby the o-line just seems completely unable to stop the rush, and the Giants have a good rush still, despite losing Stahan and Osi. Also, on D, they'll face a very different run game from Earth, Wind and Fire, rather than the job they needed to do on AP.

I think the problem for the Giants is there lack of aerial threat with Plaxico still picking the shrapnel out of his leg. Touma isn't a deep threat, and Hixon is decent, but that's a long way back from the receiving weapons Manning had a couyple of months ago. Burress would draw double coverage which gave those other guys room to play. Boss instead of Shockey isn't the same passing option either.

It should be the Eagles, but seeing as it's the Eagles, it probably won't be.

The Eagles Defence is the key to the game. They are playing out of their skins right now and they have stifled some really good running games (Cowboys, Redskins, Vikings) over the past few weeks. The O is horribly inconsistent and they go from bust to boom and bust again within half a game. If DMc is happy and the D continues their form, I think we'll win.

The real issue for the Eagles is the NFC Championship, we have laid eggs in all but one of the last 4 we've played in. I think we'll lay another one vs. the Panthers.

I 100% agree Marlton, we will turn over the Giants. The Eagles are on fire, and on the money. Every recent game they have played has been 'must win' I think this form will roll-over the Ginats, whos starters have been rested for 2 weeks. I fancy two early scores to take 14-0 lead, holding on to take it 20-10.

Then yes, defeat v the Panthers :(

Have to admit it’s not looking too good for the Giants and the Eagles are definitely flying high. The Giants were the best team during the regular season then they went on to lose three of their final four games before the playoffs - something they had never done before but which should motivate them for this Sunday. It’ll be tight but I’m predicting that it will be the Giants against the Panthers on the 18th.

Well you'd get long odds on it not being the Panthers i'm sure!

I'm goin for Ravens @ Steelers and Eagles @ Panthers as the Championship games

Don't any of you feel a little uneasy following "The Eagles"? Don't have anything against them personally and one of my colleagues is a fan and a first class chap to boot but somehow I couldn't do it. Just wouldn't feel right.
Will have to go for San Diego at the moment as there is no-one left I really like. Hoping the Titans get rolled over this weekend.

Big night in Florida tomorrow (Thursday) with the National Championship game against Oklahoma. Hope my lad's basketball practice doesn't overrun and I'll be taking the top off a cold beer in time for kick off.

really looking forward to the champonship game. it is bieng shown live here, starting at 1am so the brother and i have planned some drinks and food, should be good. i think the sooners will triumph though. will be a good game. i see harvin is fit and ready to go, am interested to see if he is worth all the hype he has had on the college gameday shows over here. i read through a few mock drafts yesterday and the majority have him going to the bears.

the 2009 draft has a lot of quality in it, some of those who'll be picked 2nd round and down would have otherwise been first round picks in previous years. some right names coming through as well sen'derrick, jauqion, shonn, coye and my personal favourite captain munnerlyn.

>>I'm goin for Ravens @ Steelers and Eagles @ Panthers as the Championship games<<

i completely agree with you on those games skint gull. though given my track record with predictions we'll have titan and chargers then giants cadinals in the nfc.

I'd prefer them to be the Philadelphia Seagulls but not much chance of that. We are getting an MLS team in 2010 and they are so far unnamed.....we can hope. How things are different in the US. Stadium decision took 3 minutes and they broke ground in December. From announcement of the franchise to kick off, 3 years in a brand new 20,000 seat ground.

Of course the quality of the play will be abysmal. Bit like watching the Albion every week!!!!!!!!!

you are not wrong. I guess I will keep my big mouth shut from now. One bit of good news though is that Pacman Jones has been booted out of the Cowboys squad. One of my biggest gripes with my beloved Cowboys was the disruption in the dressing room.Hopefully this will help and we need a good coach to stop the stars playing for themselves.

I said at the begining of the year he would cost us and he has. I have heard over here that he was injured for most of the season and he played as our backup could not throw more than ten yards!!!!!

Anyone with Sooner loyalties like to acknowledge the National Champions?
Sports Mania in Mandarin was doing a roaring trade in National Champion wear this morning. I understand there is a sports shop owner in Oklahoma with around 40 grand of worthless red t shirts on his hands.

"Our Victory. Our Moment" as my blue one (complete with Gator on it) proudly states.

Fully expect to be buying another one this time next year to go with the 2006and 2008 version.

As an Albion fan of 30 years standing I have to say it's nice to support a team that hammers most teams they play out of sight!
