Posh end of Shoreham
i had a funny idea it wasn't going to be his last game..... hope the boys can get another win for him , all the best...x

Fingers crossed Papa Soprano can make it, he desperately wants to go and keeps getting very emotional and upset when talking about going to another game especially after the club did so much for us at the Blackburn game, he wants another special day out, unfortunately we'll have to slum it this time back in our usual seats
But unfortunately his illness is taking its toll lately and may struggle to be out most of the day for the game but we'll make a decision Saturday morning if he's well enough to go, it's gonna be a struggle to stop him going :)

Peacehaven
The wife has gone and got bloody tickets for Prom in the park in London. Looks like I've got a spare game for some one in my season ticket -

If your happy to collect and drop back my card to me in Peacehaven, then there's a free game for someone.?

Preferably someone who can't afford to make as many games as they wish because of the overpriced match day prices.

How the hell isn't he playing for us?

My son played in the City College team with him last year which is a pretty decent level - said he was exceptional. Now, given most of the teachers there have some affiliation with the club I really don't understand how he was allowed to slip through.

I heard he hates us!

-the fact that it's a Saturday afternoon at 3pm, with nobody having to rush home from work

This always grates on me, why do people always say this? Of course there are people who are working, and there will be people who are finishing work early so they can get to the game. Who do you think are driving the buses that get people to the game? Who's driving the trains? Who's manning the pubs to serve your pints? How many people have to miss games, Saturday or otherwise, because they have to work? I had to miss a lot of the final season at Withdean because Saturdays were an important day for the shop I was working in, and had to beg for time off for the Huddersfield match.

The people who aren't there on Saturday because of other commitments haven't necessarily chosen to miss the game as if there was nothing else to do.

All that said, love the rallying cry! I'll be there.

No reason why this game shouldn't be a complete sellout
1 Tributes to the Shoreham Air disaster
2 Top of the table
3 Zamora Amex home debut
But option 1 should be enough for every Albion fan to attend this game
If you read my thread last week about Blackburn being my dads last game he said to me today he's not missing this game for anything
#TOGETHER

It's Hull in the second tier, not Arsenal in the Premier League. I doubt there are more than 10 clubs in country who would get 30,000 for that. Brighton might come close.

Can't wait for this myself. Day trip from Manchester, so I hope it lives up to expectations!

I'm guessing 27k. Wasn't there an NSC poster who'd written a programme to count the remaining available seats (showing on the website)??

That got taken down as club didn't like it, not sure why. Nothing to stop someone going into club website and counting up on the stadium plan. I'm sure some one will, I'm off out for lunch so haven't got the time. Have a safe trip down.

I know as well as anybody about the joys of working at weekends, thanks very much. I juggle my shifts or take leave to make as many of the games as I can, thanks to a bunch of fairly understanding colleagues. That's likely to change next year, but I'll do what I can to be there. The fact is, however, that the greater majority of the population have their Saturdays and Sundays off, therefore games at the weekend are less of a struggle for most of them to get to. Our lower gates for midweek matches are a reflection of that, as people who work further afield can't always get through the rush hour traffic/public transport queues in time.

Me, I can't wait for next Saturday. A home game, a good crowd, we're on a decent run of form AND there's the likely prospect of hearing, for the first time in many years, Richard Reynolds uttering the words "Number twenty five: Bobbyyyy ZAMORRRRAAAAAAA!" in his match day squad reading.

This is why I don't understand the original post, I know you're working shifts. I don't agree with your "greater majority" statistic, I'd be surprised if that's true now. I'm also not sure that midweek attendances are due to working restrictions as such, but I've not done the required research to speak with any certainty. It's just a minor bugbear of mine that there's an assumption Saturday means no work, that isn't the case for a lot of people.

All that said, I really can't wait for Saturday. Even last season, I couldn't wait for the matchday to roll around again and I can't wait for Richie Reynolds to work his magic, and not know what number Solly March is wearing this season. I wonder if he's practicing the "Number 25" call on a daily basis..

Would rather it was Paul Samrah or Attila doing the reading out but the sentiment's the same I guess!

I expect a further reduction in the attendance figure. I think this will be because

1) Shoreham Air Disaster has taken the causal supporter's mind away from football
2) Appalling trains and transport difficulties for the Forest and Bolton games (worst ever)
3) Two wins but no surfeit of goals

It could depend on the weather for the casuals and any publicity.

I hope I am wrong.

Bloody hell. If that's what you're like right now, I can't even imagine how depressed you must have been for most of last season

1) I'm really not sure that's the case at this stage - if anything surely fans having such feelings would want to go and pay their respects.
2) They really weren't the worst trains ever, and I can't imagine that many people would actually be put off going to a game because they might have to queue for a a train.
3) We're top of the league - how we've done it really isn't relevant, if people can't get enthused by us being top of the league then I'm not sure what would do it for them.
