None of them have any mandate except Boris, who frankly shouldnt be allowed to run whilst being under investigation for misleading parliament, and having already been booted out by his own colleagues. The system is flawed, the electorate ought to have a right to a referendum at least to call for a general election. The conservatives had their chance to vote for a leader and royally f***ed it up by voting for truss who has walked in, thrown a hand grenade at the economy without a clue what she is doing, and left millions of people with mortgages completely screwed for the foreseeable. In answer to the question, being as there wont be a GE, and it's really a damage limitation exercise now until we are rid of this party, then Sunak is the one who would screw things up the least

I fear that there are a load of political shenanigans going on behind the scene to ensure Johnson ends up in a mix where he may get back in. If this is the case I hope that the investigations into him aren’t dropped. I hope that the case against him is proved and he has to step down again. At that stage I don’t see anything other than a general election which the Tories will lose by a landslide (Which will happen later anyway if Sunak or Mordaunt get selected).
Personally, I’d hate it if Johnson and his cronies get in.

Whilst I'd like Labour to win I'm not sure I'd want them to do so by a huge huge margin. The danger is when you get down the peckng

Now all he has to do is unite the Conservative party, try to rebuild/salvage some sintilla of economic credibility, sort out the countries finances, keep the lights on this winter, deal with Putin, alleviate cost of living crisis, take on the unions, stop the NHS collapsing this winter and get the Tories into a position to at least have an outside chance of winning the next General election ...

Well, I don't say such things very often, but well done the majority of tory MPs for rejecting Johnson and not letting him get his 100 nominations.

Johnson didn't get his 100, which is why he has withdrawn his name. That way, as the bloke on the radio said "we will never now know for sure how many MPs backed him". That means Johnson can say he was supported but decided to not stand.

Johnson has publicly declared he was 'uniquely placed' to stave off a general election, thereby at a stroke undermining the other candidates. This also proves he didn't get his 100 nominations.

He is also privately fuming that the party grandees set the bar so high (100 MPs) to get on the ballot. This again shows he didn't have the 102 MPs he claims he had, and still claims he had.

Is he perhaps......a liar?

Ha, ha. Now f*** off, Johnson. Nobody, apart from mad people, wants you.
