Unfortunately, a Palace win for me. Don't want Newcastle to put any run of form together and they have a really tough rest of the month (Southampton, Chelsea, United, Wolves). Palace (Newcastle, Leeds, Burnley, Brighton, Fulham) on the other hand have a great chance to pull away this month as do Burnley (Brighton, Palace, West Brom). The same for us (Burnley, Villa, Palace, WBA). If Palace get results against Fulham, Burnley and Newcastle, and we get results against Burnley, Palace, and WBA, we'll start to drift out of the relegation conversation and it'll be one of Fulham, Burnley and Newcastle.

It could mean we only really need 2 wins from our final 12 games come March.

Pretty sure Palace will win this one.

Too much to ask Newcastle to have two good games in a row.
With Wilson scoring two the other day he could find some form and plus they have a new manager Graeme Jones* they could get new manager bounce like against Everton.

*I know he is the coach.

Didn't realise they had a new coach.

Yes it could make a difference.

Palace to lose. They are no better than Newcastle and if Wilf got injured they'd plummet downwards. We are very capable of finishing above both this season.

Can't believe that, so far, 23 of you [at time of posting] would prefer a PALARSE win - FFS

We can catch both these teams so must be better that only 2 points are awarded for this match - aka a DRAW.

There are quite a few Palace who post or lurk on here. Obviously some JCL Albion too.

Palace to score in the first minute and Newcastle to win a 98th min penalty with a red card given for the offence 1-1 final score and the game to have to be replayed for some obscure reason.

If we can catch up five points on Palace, we can catch up four points on Newcastle. Both won at the weekend, but Newcastle finally playing well and Palace in the only style they ever win, against the run of play. I don't give a monkey's about Newcastle, but would love to finish above Palace. The question's not worth asking. The answer should always be the same: Three points for whoever Palace are playing. Yes, that did include Villa when they played them at the end of last year. I still feel the stain that we had to rely on them to beat Cardiff in Chris's last season because we failed to do it ourselves. In order, I support 1) Brighton, 2) Anyone who is playing Palace, 3) England, 4) Any country that has a Brighton player in it's side, 5) Any country playing against a country that has a Palace player in it's side.

Sensible. Anyone suggesting anything other than the teams immediately above us to lose is too bullish by far. We are two bad results away from the relegation spots. Palace will finish above us as usual.

So some people are saying that if were were dependent on a palace win to stay up they would prefer Palace not to win... crazy...

I would prefer to keep that rivalry to a) the two games between us b) who finishes higher in the league

Given Newcastle are more easily catchable (IMO) I would take a CPFC win for now as a stepping stone to further progress.

I was there from there from 1969 so i do know the history.

How wonderful that on a day when the bottom two teams play each other, we are obsessing about another game entirely. Boy, that home win has done us the world of good!

I would think everyone would be happy with 0-0 for that game , certainly don't want SU to win as they have picked some wins up recently and might think they have a chance. Don't want WBA to win either...

So was I and so did I. Amazed that some on here care more about what that 'team' does or doesn't do than they care about us. Idiotic!

Hang on a second - are you suggesting he didn't move to a world giant in the January transfer window.

I didn't bother checking as I didn't want to see that Palace had pocketed a cool £200m from Barca, Real, PSG or Man City.
