The most disappointing aspect of tonight was sitting right on the dividing line between the home and away fans and hearing quite a lot of anti-Semitic comments and half songs towards Tony from the Newcastle fans. Not heard it at any other away games before, but I’ve not been so close to the home games for a while.
That is utterly disgraceful- especially coming from fans who’s club is literally only where it is in the PL because of instant mass funding from an Investment Fund propped up by a government with an appalling track record on human rights abuses. Those Newcastle fans you heard need a history lesson and a season’s stadium ban in the very least.

I'm really f***ing worried. It's mad after this season.
Moises is irreplaceable. Mac is so important. Colwill is a player very hard to replace as LCBs are so rare. I'm worried about Europe. Just look at West Ham.
Yes, just look at West Ham. In the final, aren't they - and in the PL next season. There will be ins and outs in the transfer window, you realise? No £50M players, I'm sure, but enough good ones to add some depth to the squad. Besides, look at our bench tonight - Offiah, Moran, Peupion and co. wi be a year older and more experienced.

Would you seriously rather not have a European adventure? Seriously?

Good grief!

It was a small group of young lads, so I hope they’re just horribly misguided.

First half was very poor, Far better team second half, always had to push for the equaliser and getting hit on the counter was always a worry, with the injuries we have at the minute and relentless games I think the criticism being shown on here is very harsh. Shout out to Steele tonight bar a couple of misplaced passes he did everything he could.

You don’t save one on one’s or shouldn’t unless the forward fecks it up.

The issue was Van Hecke stepping up to play offside absolutely appalling decision at any level.

I think he made the right decision. Wilson was between him and Dunk and there's no way he would have caught up with him. It didn't work but it probably gave a better chance than staying deeper and getting into a foot race with Wilson.

RDZ has tried to manage the side as best as he thinks. However I would have started with Offiah at right back and Caicedo in midfield. Gross at right midfielder.

That’s just silly.
Every team has aberrations, especially when we aren’t oil rich.
We don’t have an experienced RB fit, we had three youth players on the pitch.
Even the timing of tonight’s game was out of their hands because it was Newcastle who were at Wembley in the League Cup final.
I'm trying to manage expectations. But not doing it very well !

Yes, every team has aberrations. The trouble is, we have had two deeply unpleasant aberrations recently.

And we are in danger of falling into the trap of making excuses for failure.

No we are really not. RDZ employs a highly experimental philosophy about how to play football. It has got us higher in world football than we have ever been. It is not falling apart neither is it failure!

I wasn't talking about RDZ, who made no excuses in his post match interview. I was talking about people on here.

If someone can let me know what I'm allowed to say about our performance I'd appreciate it, wouldn't want to offend or say something that makes me a bad fan.

We have not really recovered from extra time and disappointment at Wembley have we?
Think it's a bit unfair to lay too much of what went wrong tonight on the players that have not played much. Eddie Howe had a plan, his players executed it well, and without being at full strength, we struggled.
Many times under Potter a team came to the Amex, and the away fans said that was their worst performance, not crediting Brighton with having stopped them being able to play their game. We came up against a manager who played us right, we were below the strength we have had most of the season, and that made it even tougher.
Lets give Newcastle and Howe a bit of credit for working hard and making it hard for us to be at our best.

And onwards we go, to the biggest weekend of football for Brighton in many years. Saturday sees two games, only one of which needs to go our way.
Sunday could be the icing on the cake. And we've still got a +12 GD over them, and Haaland may not play Wednesday!
