Everyone does also need to bear in mind that we usually play 1 up front. Having 6 strikers when you play 1 up front would be thick.

Is expecting us to have just ONE specialist target man unreasonable? He may only be used as plan B but it would make such a difference to the options we have. I am really concerned that despite it being blindingly obvious all last season we are no stronger up front than we were on 30 August last year. I think most would agree lack of goals cost us big time last year, and we look like going down the same route again..AS THINGS STAND.

This could all change of course, and I hope it will, very shortly but it is becoming quite important with kick off just a few days away

By Hull...

It is RIDICULOUS that we have not addressed the fcuking obvious striker issue in more than 1 year... just fcuking STUPID...

There are strikers there to be signed.
Why are we stalling. Is it wages, fees, personal terms etc?[/QUOT

if we get Murray, then it could be weeks of speculation before he signs, you know what he is like in contract talks....

One has been injured for a year, one is no longer a striker, one is a development player and it's questionable whether he can make the step up just yet. The other has question marks about his ability to really cut it at this level. Maybe I should have posed the question as does any other team have a forward line with so little experience and ability at this level?

It is a genuine question rather than a knock, as I really don't know but am shocked at how lightweight we are as we enter our 2nd season in the Championship. Or are other teams just as lightweight up front. The rest of the team, especially the defence looks good.

Valid question I think. Im sure Gus will get at least one forward in asap though.

I'm not sure he was being serious, but I'd take him rather than stumble on as we are.

Fair enough, as things currently stand. It looks like our realistic targets are Vokes & Wood. Murray would be a bonus but can't see that happening at all.
I imagine we were looking at Zamora, Beckford & Rhodes however these are the players who's wages and fees create stumbling blocks.
Whatever happens, I hope after all this time getting Vicente fit and happy, he gets to play on the wing. Please never alone upfront, ever ever again.

Is there any truth to the Bendtner rumours? Arsenal are massively keen to get rid I think. journalist friend of a friend in London mentioned it but it may well be absolute balls. Also heard Milan as another destination!

Vokes has signed for Burnley.

Obviously yes....otherwise he would now be in place !

Obviously yes.
Looking for a fairly precise guess. For example is it a case of Premiership players not wanting to drop down to the Championship. Are they asking too high a signing on fee, are Premiership agents involved, are wages ok but fees too high, are fees ok but wages to high etc etc....
Obviously something along those lines. Just inviting conversation bud.
